I recently purchased a pair of Caborca boots made in Guanajuato Mexico. It's the closest thing I ever come to wearing what feels like a custom made boot. These boots are incredibly comfortable. I can only imagine what an actual custom tailored boot feels like. I'd love to own a pair but 4 years is just too long LOL. We got a boot maker down here in San Antonio, TX called Little's Boots. This coming from an amateur leather worker, but for the people wondering why someone would shell out thousands and wait years for a pair of boots, here's why. 1) There's the legacy; there very well may be better boot makers out there, but this place has a reputation so people go there. 2) While the techniques used here are pretty rudimentary on their own, when combined with the creative element of the decor on the boot, it takes a practiced eye to determine whether or not something would even look good or should be done a certain way. 3) As far as I know, there aren't a ton of handmade cowboy boot makers out there whereas there are many more generalized cobblers around. Personally, I don't think I would ever bother getting a pair of boots from here and that isn't because I think they're expensive or over sold, but simply because I find quality store bought boots comfortable enough as is and because I'm learning to cobble boots myself, so if I get good enough then there would be no reason to buy a pair!
@joevarga59822 жыл бұрын
I'm sure most of the customers aren't just going here for a custom fit, but for a customized design that isn't available in a store-bought boot.

Well, as a bootmaker i can say ~3000 for this boots is too much. Firstly- 3:52 insole is very poorly made- in goodyear welted you should cut wider part of leather for stitching. Also, why machine stitching at 4:55 ? It is sightly less durable than hand sewing. Sole is nice, big + for using wooden pags, very good, but unfortunately forgotten technique. Summing up- it should cost between 1200 and 1800. Boots for 3k should be made only with hand stitching- its a lot of work, but it makes them perfectly durable.
