Woah! I have been looking for more technical applications of 3d printers and this is amazing! Loved the carbon fiber weaver by the way

Always enjoy getting a notification from this channel. And BTW, that P2 must be a dream to cast with that low of a viscosity. It's a shame Easy Composites doesn't distribute on this side of the big pond - really looks like a one-stop-shop.

Thanks! Pleasure to hear that! It's indeed nice being able to buy everything from one webshop! They have an awesome customer service as well! Been ordering from them for the last 8 years and never had any issues. They only had a hard time with supplying europe mainland during that brexit saga, but they solved it by opening a site in the Netherlands, Europe solving all the issues, and even better it's now closer to belgium :D

hey! when you use the aluminium mandrel, do you cure your tubes in an oven or autoclave? and what do you use as a release agent? I would love to see more content about tube-making, I'm really struggling to make some of them!

Cured in an oven, I'll have the full tutorial online this thursday with 4 different techniques to make carbon fiber tubes ;)

I make tubes sometimes. Are your carbon tubes sticking to your mandrel? If you're wrapping over a cylindrical mandrel and compressing the carbon toward that inner surface, you need a high quality mandrel. I use a rod straightening and centerless grinding service. Then I release prep with an ultra low friction coating. And then extraction may or may not involve a 10-to-1 leverage extraction device. The combination of near perfect surface deviation of the cylinder and making it slick as snot usually makes for willing release. The grinding costs a fair amount of money and they tend to want to do it out of a 10 foot length blank rod, so coming up with a new diameter in your tool set can get kinda expensive.
