Love these practical-use projects. If you get around to a vNext version, you should consider a TPU gasket so that you don't get air leaking out.
@MandicReally
@MandicReally 4 ай бұрын
Yea, I have been using TPU gaskets on a lot of fan mounting setups. I was really tempted to put a flat flange on the top of the setup to use some foam sealing tape to seal it to the vent tube. If we were going to live here forever I probably would have, but we are moving relatively soon actually.

I'm also adhd here: my ac unit is directly over the return for my house. On the AC unit, I used sharpy to write "date last changed". In a box next to it, I put the date of last change woth dry erase marker. Some how, this keeps me from going 3+ months on a system that needs monthly changes. When I get curious, just open the door and instantly know when the next change is due.

I had to do that too but I cut a triangular piece of cardboard and taped it into the vent. With the Coanda Effect there were probably other ways for me to do that. I do like the clean look of the new vent, but my way I painted a clown on the cardboard for extra spookiness. 😂😂😂

BY THE WAY! Have you considered doing a series of modding old printers? Lots of new hobbyists go the used printer route in order to not invest as much up front, leading to a lot of modding instead of buying new printers. Ender-3 V1, CR-10 V1, original i3's etc. I've personally spent more than a P1S in upgrades to my CR-10 and Solidoodle 3. 😂😂😂

I converted an over 10 year old MakerBot Replicator to Core-XY with modern hardware and electronics. The video did really poorly after hundreds of hours into designing and building it. I get what you are asking, but sadly it just doesn't make sense as a business decision. It was an intention I had at one point but it just hasn't proven to be a path forward for my business sadly.

Charcoal air filtration systems inside of printer chambers that recirculate the chamber air. They both help to stabilize chamber temperature as well as filtering the nasty chemicals. For my Voron 2.4 I use the "Nevermore" (you can see it under the front edge of the bed in the timelapse).

In 3D CADD software, it's more common to use the origin of the of the sketch plane as the center of the part, as opposed to one of the corners of the part. This typically helps aid assembly modeling. However, the way Fusion360 does assemblies is rather poor, in comparison to Solidworks or Inventor. All of that being said, you hit the use of construction lines spot on!

@@Hajtosekoops, sorry I meant to answer that part. I used the Loft tool. I made the bottom flange and the top flange as separate pieces. Then I moved them apart as I wanted them. Created a sketch off the face of each, then I used those sketches to Loft between the two. I had to then do the same for each of the individual air passages to cut the internal structure out of the main loft body. It took a little trial and error to achieve what I was aiming for but it worked.
