I was pretty intrigued by the 0.07mm resolution claim, but after watching the video, it seems like there's a significant gap between the promised resolution and the final model details. It looks like remodeling after scanning might require a good chunk of time. Is anyone else finding this to be a bit of a letdown?

yeah i have watched a couple videos on this and all they did was convince me not to buy it

Remodeling after scanning is inherit in most consumer level scanners. Some higher end scanners require some retopology of the scanned mesh. If a person isn't used to 3D modeling, it can seem like a daunting task. But this guy mostly used the meshes as a template for the models he wanted to make. I'm happy if the scanner can capture smaller objects close to 1/24th scale.

I was a little disappointed when I tried my moose lite for the first time last night on certain parts. I'm hoping some foot spray or dry shampoo, along with some practice and combining multiple scans will increase the quality.

5:00 one thing that may help for tracking is antiperspirant, ever notice the white residues if you accidentally spry it on dark clothes?
@MakeItRC8 ай бұрын
Good idea. 👍 I think I've heard of things like dry soap or spray deodorants being used instead of a scanning spray. It will leave a residue but that might not be an issue depending on the item.

@@MakeItRC yup. Dry shampoo works really well tom what ive seen.

As the creator mentioned, the inability to connect to mobile devices does add a layer of inconvenience, especially when scanning medium to large objects around a meter in size. It's a bit disappointing and makes me wonder about the practicality of using it for larger projects.

How do you go about dimensioning off a mesh in order to sketch on it?

Do you have that interior for the FCX for sale somewhere? Either preprinted or just the file? It looks good.

Yes. Just the STL files right now. All the details are in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJq3nquVlMpgaas

Excellent video. I was wondering if lighting was an issue for you? Could you scan the object in low lighting conditions just capture the mesh not the textures? And how did the scanner do with the light color objects, especially the white? Thank you.
@MakeItRC7 ай бұрын
Thank you! Light color objects seem fine and even ideal for the most part. High gloss white or near white could benefit from some prep work. Perfect lighting doesn't seem nearly as critical as I experienced on older scanners from 5-10ish years back. Florescent office lighting seems just fine, however I'm sure there are limits to both how bright or dark the environment can be for the best scan. It may be worth a bit of experimentation if you really want to get the best quality. Hope this helps. 👍

I've seen a bunch of channels promote this device in the last two weeks, so I gotta say I'm kinda sceptical. Whenever a company invests this much in influencer marketing the product is usually lacking in some regard.
@MakeItRC8 ай бұрын
That's totally understandable and these days that's a good idea. For us, we refuse to receive any compensation for reviews whether upfront, per links clicked, affiliate programs etc. aside from receiving the item being reviewed. IMO receiving compensation makes the video more of a sales pitch than an actual review, and some channels should probably be more transparent about whether or not they are receiving compensation beyond the item itself. We're very fortunate to have access to $15k+ of 3D printers, scanners, and related equipment, just about all of which was purchased. In other words I'm not selling my soul for a $500 scanner lol. If it's good I'll gladly spread the word, if it's junk it's junk. 😆 Just my 2 cents, I like the Moose, but I can totally respect wanting to wait to see what paying customers have to say. 👍

What is the difference between SealLite and MooseLIte ? MooseLIte on paper seems even worse than SealLite , but in reality both of them seem to be the same product with different names? Wtf?
@MakeItRC8 ай бұрын
I'm not familiar with the Seal so I'm not sure what the differences might be. Maybe one is designed for scanning larger/smaller objects?
@zauche817 ай бұрын
@@MakeItRC "Seal" is made for small ... "Moose" for medium ... "Lynx" for large size objects ... I don't know how detailed a model scan has to be if things are anyhow just printed with 0.1 to 0.2mm accurracy.
