The secret is empty hands and talking nice. He still gets killed a lot as a fresh spawn, but he also teams with randoms and makes a few friends along the way. But then he is also the guy that can shoot his travel companion in the back of the head and justify it to himself.

@@edmartin875 the secret is to play 10,000 hours lol. With that amount of time you tend to meet all sorts of people. For every cool person he meets, there’s 20 more that are just pure assholes. The cool ones end up in the videos and stand out giving a false perception that he tends to meet more cool people than we do.

It's SO funny how as a freshie, everbody's goofing around and friendly and doing dumb video game shit, but give a guy a mosin and a plate carrier and he's the sweatiest angel of death commando you've ever met in your life. That boxing match over the "map", the most intense sniper duel you've ever had, and "I've gotta get his stomach to make a rope", "Oh we can make fishing hooks out of his bones too! :)" are ALL peak DayZ, and that's what makes this game great. Also, you know what's underrated? Guy that regularly says your name when he's talking to you. Always nice to hear somebody say your name.

This server is awesome man. I met some dude who didn’t really speak English, we chilled for a while, got jumped by some idiot in a motorcycle helmet. We both survived, but my friend was very low health and could barely move. Though he could have recovered from his injuries, he ended his run with a machete despite me trying to convince him to do otherwise.

My favourite was when a third guy turned up with a gun but said it seemed like a fair fight, so he would fight the winner, so we both ran at him some how we knocked the guy out and killed him then I threw the gun away but lost the fight 😂
