I understand what you are trying to say, and dont get me wrong, I am not trying to insult you in any way, but that's just wrong. Greatest and best are synonyms. There is no real difference between using the two. Tbh, I don't think there is any reason to compare any of the greatest football players. There has never been and never will be a greatest of the sport. There is however a whole category filled with the best players we ever had. People like Maradona, Pele, Messi and Ronaldinho are in this Tier. They are just era-defining characters. Masters of their art. They are almost super-human. But they are different from one-another. In april 2013 he was called for the national team and showed up late to the hotel (and maybe drunk, we´ll never known) before a friendly match against Chile in Belo Horizonte. He played a very bad game and the press said that this was the reason he doesn´t played for Brasil at Confederations Cup and World Cup. The I BELIEVE chant thing started at the Libertadores semi finals agains Newells Old Boys, when the lights went off. The stadium was all in the dark and the fans started chanting EU ACREDITO (I believe) like a mantra.

As a professional player myself, i just cant understand how he managed to play on that level with barely 0 training. That is just unreal. So much tallent. Cant imagine what he would be like if he had robaldo or messi work ethics

This is truly tragic. Even in Europe Ronaldinho is massive. I remember playing fifa street for hours with this man as my favourite. Im glad Ronaldinho got somewhat back but I would've loved to see him play in the Prem.

For 2 or 3 years ronaldinho was football. If you missed that part of his career you missed something special. It wasn't just the highlights, it was the anticipation of what he would do next.

Although he didn't achieve massive success like Messi, I'd say he was the best footballer who would bring joy to everyone watching the game.

I believe that Brazilians of the time like Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Carlos were better players, but players like Ronaldinho and Kaká were more pure players. I can not quite describe it but just the flare and watching them it is just different if that makes sense. Those special moments they offer too.

Ronaldinho was a player type who we have lost to time, someone whose number one priority, is just having fun. Not training, not making perfect passes, not being the fastest, not having the strongest shot. But being the best in what he thinks is fun.
