I´m going with 1.7 in the end. Especially when it´s raining or the wind starts up, those courses are haaaard! Btw., if you struggle with layers against the cold try a vest or 2 and use a long sleeve fleece shirt under it. Helps me get through the cold European winters and keeps your arms mostly free for swinging.

Whether my high single digit handicap improves much is yet to be determined, but the bad rounds are much lower scores thanks to keeping things one shot at a time, and the breaking 80 has been more frequent.

Hey GSK! I do believe you will play to a 3.7 index. Perhaps lower, wind-dependent. I don't think you will go more than 4-5 over for every round, bogeys and birdies included.

this course is very high on my to playlist. your handicap is going to be very affected by the weather, not been a great summer here in scotland, and the fact that these are tough courses you are playing. i'd say 7.8. after watching this video two might be a better guess at your handicap, two guiness :) lol

I'm sticking with my initial guess from the 1st video of 6.9 and I'd say it's definitely in the ballpark so far. After watching you crumble on 16 and 17 I had to pause the video for the few seconds you stood on the 18th tee. Good lord, what a view from that raised tee box! It may not have helped you but I couldn't help but feel better for you just soaking in that beautiful golf hole/course. The 18th didn't end much better and I take no satisfaction in it keeping you near my 6.9 guess but you played a near flawless 15 holes at a tough course following the playa strategy. The Old Course is in for a beating when you get a tee time!

Mate, that was class, deserved to be under there - especially on 17, but those greens are diabolical. Have you seen greens like we have here in Scotland, anywhere else on your travels? You're starting to get the hang of it here, how do you feels the experience is? Scottish people looking after you, I hope. If you can continue that level of progression in handling such a different experience of the game, than you're used to, you'll get under a 3 handicap - but scratch is a very tall order in the circumstances. Billy big baws, to set your aim at scratch & kudos for that. I'll say 2.3 & that would be an incredible achievement pal - get stuck in, wadda playa!
