Wow!! That is cool!!. Now we have Bluetooth, aux , whatever nonsense cars have now. A CD is pretty neat and retro, gotta love the classics . CD technology now classic LOL

The Vacuum Fluorescent Display is my favorite display too bad they are not that much any more Also this stereo is made by Panasonic (as you already know) for a higher end Subaru

+Peter Yachymczyk VFDs are also some of my favorite displays. You can still find VFDs on high end home audio equipment. I can see why they are not used in cars much. The LCDs do not generate light, thus when light shines on them you can still read the display. On a VFD you get glare. I have a Sony CDX-GT740UI, which has a VFD display. In the sun you can barely read the display.
