Lol I feel sorry for these horses horses. The owners only see these horses as money. They are not loved as a member of the family. The riders have dozens of other horses they ride. They stuck it a stall about the size of a prison cell. If they become a winner the owners sell them to the highest bidders. You notice most of these horses are dead after a short life because of old injuries or health problems from being trained and rode to early. Especially the race horses. The triple crown winner was 2 years old. They dont finish growing until age 4 or 5. Sometimes they can grow until 7. See how fast after winning he was sold. These horses are not loved. I'm not saying riding horses are bad. I love riding horses. My horses were in a pasture. They had great vets and food. What's luxurious about being a slave because they might pay 20 times the amount for the same type of hay. They are forced to breed. I feel really bad for the mares being forced to have foals every year. None of these horses have a connection to anyone. If a groom did have a connection when the owner decides to sell because they will make money. My horses when I had them had a connection with me. They knew my voice. I use to as a teenager go to another barn 2 times a month they did team penning. I let someone who horse couldn't make it one night use my gelding. It was going great until he saw me. He stopped on a dime and came to the side of the arena. Everyone laughed because he knew who belonged to him. Sorry for the rant.

Thank you for the rant, it’s important for People to realize that Horses are Sentient just like Humans, they form attachments, they need companionship, they are very emotional beings anybody that says otherwise has not spent very much time with them.

@@lada3264 I loved horses since I was 4 when my favorite uncle put me up on his horse and walked me around. I didn't get my first horse until I was a teenager. I'm 50 now and I haven't rode in along time because of old injuries. I still love and think they still the most wonderful animal

shyangel5384 I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and your experiences with your own horses. It's clear that you care deeply about their well-being, and I respect that immensely. The bond you described with your gelding is truly special, and it’s heartwarming to hear stories like that. I understand your concerns about the treatment of racehorses and how their lives can sometimes be focused more on their economic value than their well-being. It’s a tough aspect of the industry, and not all owners or trainers prioritize the horses' health and happiness as much as they should. There are, however, many people in the racing world who genuinely care for their horses and strive to give them the best life possible. That said, the issues you mentioned are real and definitely worth addressing. Thank you for taking the time to comment and share your perspective. It's a conversation worth having, and your insights are valuable.

Horse plus just rescued a horse who cost someone 40K in stud fees before he ever ran. Still ended up in the slaughter pipeline

Emma Wilde That's heartbreaking to hear. It’s a reminder of the harsh realities some horses face, regardless of their value. I’m glad Horse Plus was able to step in and rescue him. Thank you for sharing this-it's an important perspective that often gets overlooked.

Sorry, a stall is not what a horse is dreaming about...
@factssmashers4 ай бұрын
Yvette Meier You're absolutely right-horses would much rather roam free than stay in a stall all day. The video is more about highlighting the care and attention they receive, but it’s important to remember that their happiness and well-being are always the priority. Thanks for the perspective!

Funny how when you let them all in from the field the run to their stalls. They get their food, peace and quiet, a place to rest and water.

It's sad how people view horses locked up in fancy stalls as luxury. Their basic needs are friends, forage and freedom 24/7 365 days per year. That's basic needs. And those horses who "live like royalty" don't even have those met...

@The Ethical Horse Girl I appreciate your perspective, and you’re absolutely right that a horse’s well-being goes beyond luxury. Their need for social interaction, natural grazing, and freedom is essential. It’s a complex issue in the racing world, and I hope we can all keep advocating for the best possible care for these incredible animals. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Well my horses are not worth that type but they get all those things maybe not 5 star but they are happy and healthy. Mind u I have an ottb who won a magic millions as a yearling they paid $200 000 but sadly by 3 he was injured and thrown away. I got him on deaths door . He may have had the best start , he loves swimming and galloping with his mates and going on trail rides. So not always is 5 star facilities as good as farm life

Beck Beverley Thank you for sharing your story-it’s truly heartwarming to hear how much care and love you’ve given your OTTB. It’s clear that your horse is living a wonderful life now, and that’s what really matters. Sometimes, the best things aren’t about luxury but the happiness and well-being we can provide. Your dedication is inspiring, and it’s a reminder that every horse deserves to feel loved and valued.

A horse doesnt dream to live in a stall all day. Also Tortilas is one of the most well known cases of Rolukur abuse or hyper flexing of the neck, he wasn't treated right. Horses retirement should be with turnout and access to other horses for socialization wich is so important for a horses well being because they are herd animals. All these horses are treated like "royalty " like royalty means being stuck in a box with what I can assume rarely any turnout or access to socialization with other horses.
