I am mind blown right now because I decided I’m completely changing how I will study this semester, and I decided to depend on notion and anki. I made my own notion template from scratch and it looks absolutely very similar to yours. One could say I copied it from you but I really didn’t. This amazing and gave me so much optimism. I will follow up with my current plan to optimize notion and anki with their benefits! Keep up the videos please!

Hi Archer, I just wanted to ask do you make your Notion questions during lectures? As in you go into the lecture, start typing these question and answering them as well? If this is what you do, how do you simultaneously type these questions while listening to what the lecturer/ tutor is saying? Would you not miss out on important things being said that could end up in the exam? Or do you do this after the lectures? If this is the case, then what do you do during the lecture?
@shriprabanarayanan9258 Жыл бұрын
Hi Archer! Great video! Your hard work is inspiring! Would you say writing notes from lecture slides is useful when learning the content for the first time? I'm currently taking an anatomy class, and struggling with the content. Our teacher has some objective questions, but I usually just rewrite lecture notes, which hasn't helped. Would you say using quizlet and notion is better? Also, I initially thought that notion wasn't for note-taking, but please let me know your thoughts.

Hi Archer, I was wondering, do you use mind maps as well when you study? I feel that mind mapping allows you to internalise information much quicker than anki, which takes longer. I tend to put all my cards into only anki, do you think I should migrate some of them to notion (which I use for organisation)? Thanks, Elena
@ArcherNewton4 жыл бұрын
Hi! I do use mind maps occasionally but they are more useful for the understanding process in my opinion, for conceptualising how all the things come together to be one piece. With anki I find that it's more about just the memorisation side of learning something. Both are great in tandem I personally just use mind maps when I'm not yet seeing the link between the pieces of information. Up to you with what workflow works best for you but it's just important to try prevent card overload with anki where you can, and part of that is reducing the number of cards you actually put in there

Hey Archer :) Do you use this same method for note-taking when it comes to skill-based subjects such as Math?
@ArcherNewton3 жыл бұрын
Hi Corey! For subjects like maths, the main idea is about understanding where each part of the concept comes from and how they all relate to each other. I do this through using 'thought experiments'. The next thing is lots of mindful practice with practice problems. However, it's important not only to do the questions but reflect on them so you can use them as learning experiences. Hope that helps :)

Hi Victor! Good question 😃For my lectures that are recorded I have the time to write questions and answers (which are the content-based notes like the lobes of the brain). No problem! Thank you :))) Yeah so an example for my exam that I sat yesterday is that there was this concept that I couldn't understand for a while. It was to do with alkenes reacting with potassium permanganate. I couldn't figure out what products it was going to make. So this was an active recall question I continually got wrong on notion. I spent the time to actually go about learning it properly and added it to anki to make sure that it'll organise everything so I see it at the right time to make sure I can really get my head around it and make it stick. So basically anything that's difficult goes into my anki deck and will be the thing that I work on every day I have cards scheduled.
