I'm married to a white Italian man who adores me, who is good to our family, friends and neighbors and who loves the Lord. Marrying him is one of the BEST decisions I ever made. This is both our second marriage. His first wife died in 2005, I got divorced in 2005, and we got married in 2006. We are in ministry together as well.

As a black woman married to a white man, I echo this conversation. The decision was easy for me because I was looking for someone who was pursuing Christ and pursuing me. And when I found that, in a white man, I didn’t look back. We decided to pursuit Christ together and finish the race well. Thanks for this episode ❤ and I really enjoy your podcast overall.

I really wish I could do that. I moved to an area that is predominantly white and I've noticed them looking but I can't mustard up the courage to be attracted to them. It really sucks because it's hard to find available black men.

@@lthompson601 Your statement makes me think of speaker and poet Jackie Hil Perry. She wrote the book _Gay Girl, Good God_ She talks about how was she was a lesbian she came to know Christ. Not for any other reason than she recognized that she was a sinner and need sinners need Christ. She states that God didn't suddenly give her an attraction to men. However, He gave her a desire for her heart, a desire for one man in particular. He gave that same man a desire for her. They both prayed for clarity before saying anything to anyone or each other. They let God confirm this was HIS doing. Again... she wasn't looking for a man, any man at all. LOL. But they are now happily married with 4 kids, I believe.

We should not be introducing our children to every person we go on date with, or talk to. You should know the intention of the suitor, at least a year or 2 if it takes that long. Unfortunately we set our children up for disappointment, risk of abuse and other unnecessary hurts. Sure, there can be man that leave a positive impact and be a great role model as well.

They had to consistently be United in order to overcome all the mess against interracial couples including their family, friends and people on the streets. It was a blessing to hear after 6 years of marriage, she still felt like they were still honeymooning. They have definitely lived out: in sickness and in health. Security is the key!! Honestly from any man( black, white etc.) When black women see black men with white women; I think maybe they feel (I feel) unprotected, uncovered like we're not worth the fight anymore. I've been praying about the feeling I get when I see black men with white women. It's not the same when I see the opposite and I know that's not right!! Does anyone else feel this way? I cried like a baby -- in every bone of the word this is a beautiful couple. The way they compliment each other so well is a hand work of God so wonderfully. It was the enduring fatherly love from the perspective of Carl that constantly reminded me of God's love toward me in my life and journey. It broke me down! He was firm, unmoved - and when it was time to protect he acted accordingly and then some. HOW is he so still?! What type of man is this , God I thank you so much for who you raise up. I know it's not easy for us servants to submit but this pay off?! I'm undone. Listening to this podcast is helping me to think about where I am and what I am bringing to a relationship as a woman who has been through many things. Cassie helps me to further define myself and my values, being unapologetic about my desire to be seen and expectation for honor. I appreciate that she thought herself worthy of certain things regardless of where it would come from. Kudos to her for knowing herself and her value as a woman in ANY man's eyes. God bless them and their union!

Laterras I really enjoy your podcasts. Carl and Cassy overcame so much ignorance from other people over the year’s and it has strengthened their relationship.💙I loved when Carl said that he cared about her more than anyone and even himself. I also loved the response of their 9 year old son to the rude teacher, I can tell that Cassy is sweet but she don’t play lol. I am glad that the Lord healed them of their ailments and they are doing much better. I really believe that God does know what we need and will send us just that. I stay encouraged with this platform, and I thank you because your gift blesses me!🌸💕

This has been one of my favorites! They seem so at ease and peace with either other not just because of their longevity. I love her presence and poise. The way she articulated their journey was so captivating. I love his quiet confidence. The fact that his self assurance is not based on yelling or the opinions of others. I’ve dating white men so I can definitely relate to the reactions you receive from others. Beautiful couple. 💕

Their comfort in being relaxed in their true selves is really inspiring and I hope I can integrate such a relationship with my son and the chosen dad🤗Thank you for having an example of a single black mom bringing a son into a relationship like this! This type of representation is really needed. When I first started dating I was looking for an example of a black mom with a BLACK son and how to include and honor his blackness if I dated a man who wasn’t black. I had questions and wanted to see that example in case that became my reality. I had been used to being open to dating guys who fit me whether black or not and as a very comfortable BLACK women I knew that would be an interesting journey to navigate with a whole kid. I knew how to look out for myself but knew it would be a different type of thing to navigate with the kid. For me, that that need for representation was quickly ditched because I asked my three year old what he would want in a dad and his answer was so deep “I want a dad who loves me, is nice to us, doesn’t hit me and is brown like me.” My mind was blown because I had not started dating yet for him to know the context to ask for such things and he had not been around the bio father since he was an infant. I honored his request and for the first time limited my dating pool to black men and ironically ended up with a wonderful black man who had never dated a black woman before (not for disrespectful reasons). So hopefully this story is what someone needs❤️

I love how he accepts her strength and forwardness. A lot of men will try to “break you” or make you feel like you’re “too much” or too strong just because you have standards, confidence, and expectations. Women have endured so much in relationships and unfortunately, a lot of men are not willing to be patient or gracious enough to allow us time to break down those walls in a healthy way. Every woman is not insecure, most of us are just hurt and afraid to let go.

This is my first time seeing or hearing about this platform. This show really challenged my prejudice and preconceived notion’s. Not in the sense of black and white racism, because truthfully before this show I never saw myself (a black woman) being married to a black man. In my experience, I honestly never felt that a black man was capable of really loving a woman in the manner she really needs. In addition, I felt that same way about black men when it comes to fatherhood. It seems so easy for black men to just walk away or checkout physically, emotionally and spiritually. I’m not saying that I haven’t seen black men married and have stayed with their wives but the women are unloved and unappreciated and for the most part, she bears the primary burden of the family. Don’t get me wrong, I love the brothers, but I had simply deemed the behavior of brothers as a character flaw among our nationality. Hearing this sisters testimony of having to let go of the notion of who and what she deemed her husband to be, opened my eyes to the possible elimination I have made, and I realized as a Christian I could never make a better choice than God. And God is not looking at skin color just divine connections. And he could create in any man black, white, etc His ( God’s) heart. I don’t know the guys name who’s channel this is, but thank you. 🙏🏽

“God knew what I needed” Yes. I am Praying without ceasing. Sir I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your content. If I’m being completely honest I haven’t found anything close to your channel in my community. I am so glad you are addressing this subject. Growing up in Thousand Oaks, CA, I can tell you was not diverse at all. Even though no one told me, I grew up thinking I had to marry within my own ethnicity. One day In January I met a tall black man on a hike and we talked and he said he wanted to fellowship more so I invited him to church. The next day (Sunday) he came out to church with me. My pastor was starting a new series on Pride that day. Durning my pastors sermon, God talked to my heart and he said, “ If you don’t get rid of your pride, I’m not going to bless you”. I’m still praying about it till this day. It’s been on my heart to share. Thank you for all you do! May God keep blessing you!

I'm a single black woman and i really enjoyed this segment it was special, enlightening, real and a learning process of what love is. I was propheticise to years ago that my husband was going to be a Caucasian man. I've gone on dates with white and dated a Cuban man. I went through so much hell. People were angry and jealous every race it was really sad and all because of my dark skin even though i was very attractive. People are evil and cruel they broke us up but not because of me the men just weren't strong enough for me when i needed them to protect me from their racist friends and family it didn't happen the beautiful ring the cuban guy brought me was 3,000.00 and his coworker men and women mostly Spanish was jealous & mad they start telling him i was to dark & more but he didn't care but the pressure got so bad i called it off & the break up was bad because he aloud them to gang up on me and it was every race some of the white , spanish, korean & etc women had so much to say but they were dating black men. He was nerdy and didn't dress well but all that changed after shopping a nice hair cut etc. Then the vulchers came out the wood work. Grown people need to grow up. It's terrible the way some people are. I hope and pray he's happy now. His mother loved me and his father and step mother liked me as well. It just wasn't worth all the crazy. He really was a very kind & loving guy . Just thought i would share my story. Blessings and love to all.🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤👼

I am sorry that you experienced that. I would suggest that you strengthen yourself. You have to prepare yourself to be attacked. You have to figure out how to handle these attacks because it's going to happen. People are people and some are NOT going to change. So you need to decide how you are going to react. They were not the right men for you! Because the right man would have stood up for you in front of his peers nicely! So be encouraged, the right one for you will come along!

You dodged a bullet as he sounded like he had the mejorar la raza mentality in the Latin community where they think colourism is ok. He wouldn't have been fit to father a half black kid. I actually experienced the same thing. That's actually how I vet men on racism....how do they handle how people treat me. If they dismiss it, act like it's acceptable or I'm blowing things out of proportion, it's a no. If they confront it head-on, and call the people out, it's a win in that area.

These are the BEST type of interracial relationships. When both parties show up as their authentic selves. I honestly find that more so with blank women who date out. It’s because oftentimes it’s new to black women and we don’t want to compromise on our identity, thus we typically end up in relationships as ourselves.
