****Thank you for your kind words. I welcome edifying comments toward me but please refrain from any negative or disparaging statements about my recent love interest. She's a Godly woman and has the utmost character. It's because of her phenomenal character and heart to please God, that propelled her to make the difficult decision to release me. It was her love for me and the care she has for my heart that forced her to make the wise decision to let go and let God. She is healing from heartbreak as well. Any comments I find to be counterproductive to my journey will be deleted. Respectfully, Laterras.

Well said! Some people don’t understand spiritual things. Spiritual warfare is real. The adversary doesn’t want this God ordained union to happen. I know this way too personally.

This is one thing I absolutely admire about you Letteras. Despite the heartache and pain you're going through you still have a heart of gold. Sometimes it could be bad timing when 2 people meet. What I do appreciate about your love interest is that she had the respect for you to be honest 💯 even if it hurts. Transparency is a good sign. Desception and confusion is not. You got some answers and no guessing on what ifs. Many people avoid conversations and ghost the other person which is more painful. If God want you two back together, it will happen. If not, there someone better fit for what you can provide and she can provide to you. I pray for you and her and get the healing 🙏🏾 ❤️ in your hearts to continue this journey of love.

There is an appointed time for all things. “God makes all things beautiful in it’s time” Ecc 3:11. “God is not man that he should lie” Num 23:19. You sought God, he spoke through the Holy Spirit. I hear what she is saying, but trust God. Trust what he spoke to you. Trust his timing and his perfect ways. God Bless brother

I respect this woman for admitting she has things to deal with instead of getting into a relationship knowing she wasn't ready and breaking him because she's broken. I wish more people would have that level of honesty and self awareness.

I experienced this. I saw the guy in a dream before I even met him. We were so in sync but he had things in him that he had not addressed. I learned that there is no One... Only the obedient. Everyone has free will. Some folks can choose to walk into destiny or walk away from it. But God is going to make sure His will is done in the earth. My ❤ was broken when this happened to me. But him saying he didn't feel like he was the one helped me to break that tie so that months later when God sent someone who did want me and sought God for someone like me I was free to love. 10 yrs later we are still married.

Only the obedient…a lesson that I’ve learned for sure. Just like someone can walk away from a calling; the same way we can ignore the inkling to check on someone…that same free will…we can turn away from the good thing God presents. I’m convinced that many fit the bill. It’s a matter of who’s willing to step up to the opportunity. It hurts. But there is no shame in loving someone and being willing to take the journey.

Please be encouraged! My testimony is similar... I prayed about a relationship and everything pointed to this person. Then he suddenly chose to walk away. God used that heartbreak to prepare me for my husband. I was so hurt, but God spoke to me and told me to stop crying and get up. I was obedient and I started putting myself our there again. Two months later, my husband found me and we got married within 6 months of meeting each other. We just celebrated our one year anniversary and its so much more than I could have imagined godly love would be! This podcast was a major part of my journey to finding love and preparing myself for marriage. If he can do it for me, I am believing the same thing for you!

This hit me. Because almost 10 years ago my now husband came along and was trying to pursue me and although I felt safe and heard the Lord. I was terrified. I was a victim of complex trauma. And I had not dated for 10 years as I went through healing. So as he pursued I backed out of it 5 times saying, “ I’m not sure if this is God… I don’t have peace”. In actuality I was so afraid. I felt 100% sure Jesus would not hurt me but of course this man was not Jesus and I was scared. He was so patient and gentle although secretly wondering if I was crazy.😂😂 He prayed for my heart and finally the Lord spoke firmly to me about him. And now we are approaching our 8th wedding anniversary. So, my brother I pray for you. You never know how the Lord will unfold your story. I am truly sorry for your heart break. I hope this young lady receives the healing she needs and that self sabotaging will not be her portion. Be bless. Healing in all situations. You will not be disappointed with the goodness the Lord has.

I don’t know if you are familiar with attachment styles, but she gave so many signals of being a fearful avoidant….self sabotage all over the place. Unfortunately, she has to do the work , but the more he pursues, the more she will pull back.

If I may offer a different opinion: First flag - Fell Deeply in Love with someone in 2 months. You didn’t know enough about this woman in the relationship. You are in your “newness” and you are feeling dopamine that gets released in your brain. Don’t confuse that with love. It’s new. Enjoy the newness. You haven’t seen her in her other seasons to determine if she is really the one. Second Flag - You introduced too much too fast. That pre-pre marriage counseling is way too soon, and could be considered too much when you’re just getting to know someone. Y’all bringing up triggers within 8 weeks of knowing each other in therapy. Call it what you want… that was pre-marriage counseling. That can deflate the relationship really fast when you don’t have a solid foundation that’s needed from BOTH parties. You clearly was there, but it doesn’t appear she was (even though she went with you) That’s a really heavy place to be in 8 weeks of dating each other. Third flag - Speaking finality of marriage within 8 weeks of meeting. Again, really heavy to be at in 8 weeks. You are within your right to feel those feelings, but there is SO much that you must establish with her (ex. trust, loyalty, confidence in your leadership abilities, etc.) BEFORE acting on this feeling. Once you’ve established these things, then she’d be at a place to welcome this conversation. It was only 61-62 days… you didn’t even scratch the surface my friend. My point: Slow down and enjoy the ride. She clearly had some things to work on, but you were so ready to marry her she felt her back was against the wall. Slow down and enjoy each other, allow her to reveal her struggles, and slowly do the work is how you will get her. It takes WORK & TIME. You can’t bake a wedding cake in 1 min

I understand where you are coming from, and I think these are from a good place; however, the delivery appears insensitive. It is said that you should never kick a man when he is down. Love is a tricky phenomenon to define given the who, what, when where, why, and how to depends on individual experiences, perspective, and conviction. In light of this, the insinuation you make in your comment about "falling in love deeply in 2 months" is flawed. Also, the adjective ‘enough’ is subjective. I don’t believe the relationship would have progressed had his fundamental criteria not been met. Moreover, there’s only so much one can know about a person pre-marriage. That's hardly an attainable goal for a lifetime! From your second flag, I deduct that you are generalizing and using the same rubric you would use on yourself. While there are books and leading voices discussing this issue, they offer some useful solutions. However, we must learn to separate the wheat from the chaff or else collectivism will undermine individualism. There’s no hard and fast rule about love and marriage, from Adam to Isaac and Hosea, different rules apply. Onto your third flag. He has made everything beautiful in its time (Eccl 3:11). Process is an inevitability that cannot be circumvented; however, I believe the pace of progress per process depends on individuals' maturity and readiness. The more prepared a person is, the more likely their journey will be accelerated. My point: Don't judge, especially when you only know a small part of the full story. There is no guarantee that what works for one person will also work for another, so avoid generalizing. Consider his situation from his perspective, and be compassionate towards him. Be kind and supportive as you would like to be treated. Anything can happen in God’s timing. @DearFutureWifey, I commend your L.I.T. and pray for your speedy recovery. Your testimony will soon come through, so keep looking up and pressing forward.

@@jeaneb01 - First, thanks for your perspective. I love being able to have a healthy debate online without it getting out of hand with name calling and the like. I am far from kicking him while he’s down. I listened to his entire video, and I am offering a different perspective to the possibility of how he got to this position. I’m not mocking him, joking him, nor am I belittling his decisions. As a man, I listened to this man talk about his situation and I responded how I would respond to my best friend. He has to take responsibility for his actions and not point the finger like she just upped and left for no reasons of his own. In the video, he never takes accountability for his actions. I agree wholeheartedly about love not having a timeline, but you must remember that there are two people in this relationship. He was so focused on his desires, that it appears he didn’t consider her and went for what he wanted. I’ve learned that some people will go along with you even though in there heart of hearts they don’t want to. For my second flag… Google “pre-pre marriage counseling” and tell me what you find? To save you some time… there’s no such thing. This man created something that doesn’t exist to get what he wanted. You go from meeting someone to 7-8 weeks later sharing traumatic events in your life in front of his counseling friends…. That doesn’t scream “flag” to you? For my third flag, I made it clear that HE has every right to feel those feelings, but he has to prove himself worthy to her to truly say yes. The Bible says that the heart is deceitful above all things, who can understand it (Jer 17:9). This tells me that though I may have the feelings, time must be present to ensure that I’m really feeling what I’m feeling. There are two people in this relationship, and regardless of how you feel about where things are, relationships are about putting the other person’s feelings into consideration. Your rebuttal only focuses on him, and not his ex-fiancé. Forever is a mighty long time (shoutout to Anthony David and Algebra Blesset), and you have to know someone has the foundational skills to have a successful marriage.

Very well spoken in your initial comment and replies. I agree with every word. We are quick to say it's her, but maybe she seen some things in him he needed to address and the decision was for the best for both of them. The more I listen to the podcast the more I see that he has some healing of his own he needs to do. I pray God continues to heal and work on each party in that situation.

If a woman has never experienced the kind of love and security that you provided for her, especially if she never received that from her father or a father figure during her childhood, it will feel extremely uncomfortable to her because it is foreign to her. Keep your head up. The gift of love and selflessness that you gave her will find its way back to you. My son went through this type of heartbreak recently. My heart goes out to you. Laterras, the intent behind your message is not in vain. This video...Wow! You are inspirational and you are courageous. You are exactly who the Father says you are. You are lovable, you are kind-hearted, you are a King, you are worthy, and you will connect with YOUR RIB in due season. All is not lost my dear brother. The Father is preparing a queen for His beloved son. Your QUEEN! Do not ever forget that you are the apple of His eye. The Father is concerned about all that concerns you and He hears your heart....He has heard your cry. All will be well. Your breakthrough is coming and you will be a great husband to your wife and she will compliment and be everything that you need her to be for you and you alone. Continue trusting and relying on Him as this process is necessary. It is not fun, but it is necessary. Take this time to heal, assess, heal, redirect, heal, connect, and pour into Laterras. I pray the right friends and family are available for you in this season whenever you need them. I pray they allow you space to get it all out and to just listen to your heart and allow a soft landing space for your pain. You have touched so many lives in a positive way and it is our time to hold you up my brother. My prayers are with you.

Yes! I am walking through a season as well, where God lead me to a point where I placed my hope in God and listened for his word and guidance and everything fell apart. I was getting confirmation and the loose strings started to show. I started to panic. I leaned my full weight on God and it collapsed underneath me. I was soo hurt and terrified of listening and maybe hearing the wrong thing. God is in the mist of everything. He showed me that following him will not lead to our ideal outcome, but his ideal outcome. ❤

As I was looking at your transparency, it hit me. *He's reaping". Remember, the Bible says whatsoever a man sow, THAT is what he will reap. You had to reap from what you did to women in the past. God allowed you to experience the hurt you caused others so that you won't make the same mistake when the real one comes...bc you now know what it feels like! I know you gave your all to the woman you felt was "The One", but God will show you, in due time, that the next one???? Will be a love like no other!!!! She will embrace it, nurture and cherish it just as much as you do!! The next one? She will see you as a gift that God has allowed her to unwrap DAILY instead of thinking that you are too good to be true. Trust God and your process. She's out there. You just haven't found her yet. 🙏🏾 Be blessed ❤️

09.09.2024, I sit today watching this episode and I am sitting with the same pain. I am grieving! it is painful. The thought of putting yourself back into the world, the fear and doing that one again, frightens me too! I am heart broken. it's hard. it's so hard, and you talk to God but my oh my, it's painful! I watched the episode of RC Blakes and His wife last night, and one thing I have learnt is to lean onto God and just let this go and find peace in God...Loving someone is special but nothing you can do when that person walks away to unlearn some issues.. Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't have given him my all, if I was stupid to love the way I did.. wow.. thank you Laterras.. Thank you for sharing this..

For me, It was when you told the enemy thru your tears that no matter what you would NOT settle for a woman who was not a kingdom woman. That was powerful and you made me make up my mind that I wouldn't settle for less than what I've been asking the Lord for either. Thank you Laterras! This won't last forever. I know this podcast was recorded over a year ago, but today is my first time seeing it. As I am watching this I am reliving instances of my life in which I thought I was so sure of the will of God for my life, and where I gave it my all with all my intention thinking that all I had to do was that, be intentional, and all the other pieces would fall into place... But God just keeps taking our lives to higher and higher levels. For every heart break I have learned that God is still God, and that love is still love and nothing can separate us from the love of God that is through Christ Jesus. "After you've done all you can, you just stand" (I also cried out this song to God so many times... but the season of beauty for ashes has come). Thank you for sharing your heart, the grain of wheat does not bear fruit until it has died. Your pain then has blessed so many lives, and it is blessing my life now as well. Stay strong, your time is coming!

I agree .. I also feel no one should start dating or enter courtship until that have gone through a sanctification period with the Lord. Then and only then can situations like this be avoided because you already k now where you stand in receiving what God has for you . And many times, we know early on if the person is “ it” or not. Both parties have to agree. This was a sobering moment for all of us

Laterras, I lift you up in prayer right now🙏🏻. I truly feel as you were sharing this that this heartbreak may not be solely about your pain but for the growth in the partner you were dating. Praise God that you were able to show her that there are good men out there, you’ve helped her get one step closer to her healing! And God used you in this way because he knew the pain you could bear and the next door that opens up will be so unexpected and on time that your praise report is going to break the internet!!! I thank you for sharing your vulnerability & your ministry didn’t just heal her but it’s helping us all heal too. May God bless you, may God continue to smile on you, and may he continue to open a window to pour out blessings in your life.

Yes, yes, yes... what perspective! We weep with Laterras today, but later we will all rejoice when he presents his purpose partner to the world. The pain and heartache he is experiencing today will then be overshadowed by a joy unspeakable - his due recompense. Also, after having watched this episode, I can’t help but be reminded of ROMANS 8:28 - And we know that ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD to them who are the called according to His purpose. Laterras, I pray this experience leads to an increase of wisdom and understanding that will position you to be a greater blessing to those whom you minister to - it is not for naught. 🙏🏼

It's so crazy that I stumbled across this episode today. On the very day that you recorded this podcast, I too was sitting in the seat of heartbreak and devastation. I'd met who I just knew was God's promise to me after widowhood. All for me to be left to grieve yet again. The free will of others can sometimes knock all of the wind out of our sail....but one thing I do know is that God will make good on His promises towards me. And I'm praying that He will do the same for you.

"Keep your hands and heart clean." This was the perfect advice given to you Laterras. I'm praying for both of your hearts 💕. I respect this young lady because she recognized that she could harm your emotions and heart. But that was love! I pray for this young lady's healing so that she doesn't miss any blessings in hee life. I also felt your heart Laterras. I praying that you feel all of the pain at once so that you can overcome. As this young lady stated, if you 2 were meant to be, then GOD will bring you 2 back together. Only after healing takes place from both. I still felt that you experienced a miracle because you said that the LORD spoke to both of your hearts concerning one another, affirming what you both have prayed for. That is a blessing to have experienced. Not many can say that they have. You both are in my prayers. Keep on loving Laterras!

As an empath, this was so heavy. I was almost in tears. I had to take breaks. I will pray for the healing of both of you. She may have been right to step away. Before I began my healing 2022, I was a completely different person. I used 2022 to be with myself, go to therapy, be with my loved ones. I was at my lowest at one point. It would have been wrong of me to date someone. It's actually possible that you may not be compatible with her healed self. Out of the 4 men I have dated in previous years, current me would have only dated maybe 1 of them. But I learned alot about myself and what I need in a partner from each one. In time, the lesson will reveal itself. Unfortunately, everyone that comes into our lives isn't meant to be forever. God may have used you to help her start her healing journey and to show her what true love looks like. Though you are rightfully sad at this loss, this was a blessing. God's timing is everything. You will once again meet a woman that God calls you to pursue and she will not run. God will affirm it for her too and she will present. I've been there. Felt in love for the first time ever. Only took 3 months, but I later realized it was out of order from the beginning. I felt such a great emotional and spiritual connection, but that was not enough. He had to see it too. He was not pursuing and it was as if I was persuading. He finally told me God told him no. I was devastated, but I quickly thanked God because I now had an answer. I told God that I would do it right next time and pray for discernment along the way. I deserve to be loved like Christ loved His church...by a man that sees me as his wife. In the process, I have recommitted myself to learning the Word and investing in my own self care and goals (healing traumas, mental/physical health, my physical appearance, career, etc). In the last few months alone, I have never been approached by this many men in my life. I haven't even used an app in 1.5 yrs. So take the lesson for what it is. God's time is the right time. Your good thing is out there. I actually say a prayer for my future husband a few times a week. Among other things, I pray for his health, any healing he may need, his relationship with God, success (whatever that means to him), and that he is growing wiser and more humble every day to be able to lead himself and our future family. Hopefully, the next wonderful woman you meet will be an answer to that prayer. Blessings to you. 🙏

He turned and told me "I know I am suppose to be with you and your my wife but I no longer want it".4 years later I still dont understand but Im trying to keep my faith and push forward its hard though because I cant understand how God gives you something and takes it away like he did. I guess we all have CHOICES and FREE WILL so I understand the pain in this video but I NEVER want to feel it again.

Im in this situation too and it's so hard. Me and this man went to University together and in Jan 2021 God revealed to me in a fast who my husband was. I know that it was God. But here I am and we are not together because i will not chase or pursue. He is inconsistent and to be quite frankly honest he still exploring. In the meantime I am pursuing my career and doing my best to love myself with my own love languages as a single woman and drawing closer to God. He calls every now and then to check up on me but im praying that he has his own revelation. Still Here Waiting on God. To Erica Dancer point - free will and choice are real things and we need to be accepting that he may choose a life and wife outside of me and im humble enough to accept that that could be my fate but I know what God told me .

Latteras, ummm,Sir, LEAVE IT alone. God can handle it better than you can, leave it alone! Period. Sir, she has told you on numerous occasions that you are NOT the one, so, BELIEVE her! Don't keep poking the bear and mess around and get sick, lose faith in God or the hope in mankind OR develop a "new" contious. Your contious is your connection but when you just will not hear it ten God has no choice but to let you learn the hard way. That is so hard when you have so much to give and receive. She asked you in the beginning about your videos that had gone viral, so clearly there is something that spiked her interest to outdo that video and what better way to do it but hit you where it hurt and that is your ❤️. The core of this show is YOUR heart, love, peace. You desire to give your whole heart to someone, to have love and to have peace and stability; however, you have to listen! You have to acknowledge in all your ways and thoughts and he will give you the desires of your heart. Please don't lean to your own understanding but trust the process! You didn't come this far JUST to get this far. Hold on sweet angel, GOD can handle it better than you can just leave it alone! PERIOD.

Your podcast popped up on my feed immediately after my morning prayer and me asking (for the first time in my life) a husband. After listening to you, I’m now going to be listening to God’s voice in a more intentional way. My dear young man, tears are a language that God understands. I felt every word coming from your heart and thank God for talking to you through this and more importantly for your obedience to God. Thank you for your honesty, your openness, your insight, your learning, your Love. I know you won’t give up the search for your ‘future wifey’ and it may well turn out to be the lady who broke your heart, but simply the wrong time. So keep listening to God. Like a diamond in the rough, I believe God is preparing your wife for you. Thank you for showing me what to expect from a man and not compromising on my values. I thank God for you. This was such a hard episode to watch, but so enlightening at the same time. I commend the woman you were with for being so brave and removing herself from a relationship she knew in her heart she wasn’t ready for, but always wanted! Goodness, that’s tough, but such an act of unselfishness. I’m so happy that even through your pain, you could honor her bravery. You guys are both displaying what real love is to one another, even though it may not be in the form in how you both want to receive it. Still such a blessing! Your letter was perfectly written. You could be writing to this particular woman, or someone else. Either way, she’s on the way! You hang tight, keep pouring into yourself, and keep God at the front and center of your life. I believe that nothing happens coincidentally. You’re so close. Happy New Year, Laterras! Many, many blessings to you 😊🤍✨

Hey Laterras, I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I know how painful heartbreak can be. We are birthday twins (3/29) so in many ways I feel your pain. I found DFW because like you, I desire to find the one God has for me but only after doing the work to heal from anything that would cause future pain. I'm crying with you because I too love hard. I know you were all in. When my heart was broken I was terribly confused because I was so sure that I heard from God. So sure. It hurts but I'm sure there is a purpose. You are our example. We are learning with you. Thank you for your vulnerability and sacrifice. I pray that your healing is quick and insightful. Lateras my name is Ladina Whitfield, no we are not related. Your courage to expose this pain is healing a nation! Intentionality is not inclusively spirituality and rationality. You merely offered too much too soon to someone not ready to receive the wellspring flowing from within you and that is to jer credit to be honest she is not ready for you! Seeing your pain I cried with you as my prayer line role is on marriage and the sacredness of singleness. You are NOT LOST AT SEA, you are walking on water with the faith of God carrying you precious brother! He gave you the miracle of honesty! He has already blessed you in transparency even in your unwillingness to accept it! He sends you who you need not all the things you believed you wanted! You have too much to do to be distracted and deceived no matter how good the packaging and the presentation looks! You know what God want God wants for you and it is not to make it happen but allow it to happen! I pray for you and your healing and that deters your mission! Amen

However, I dated this guy for 3 months. He said and did ALL the right things. He even said that I was "the one." Unfortunately, after 3 months he completely changed his mind. I was heartbroken. Looking back, I'm so grateful.

One thing I took away from this, as I am also in the midst of a “breakup”/divorce, is we have to stop playing spouse for people who aren’t our spouse. We can’t save someone from their work nor can we force them through it. We often times try to attach ourselves to mess thinking we can make it better. When sometimes loving that person despite is just PART of the journey i yet we make it the final destination. It is hard in the midst to see it as a blessing. But it truly is. It shows you that you have the capacity to love. But it also shows where you can still mature. Thank God she was mature enough to stop it in its tracks. I wish I had spoken up before marriage when I didn’t have peace. Yet he was persistent about it being God ordained and everyone else supported it; so I took that as what I was feeling must not be factual. It was! God was trying to protect me and I blatantly ignored him. Maybe that’s not what’s happening here. Maybe this will just be a part of y’all’s love story. Or maybe God has EVEN BETTER than you perceived as his best work. Keep praying and seeking Him and doing what he tells you to do. And stay accountable to someone.

Its 4am in South Africa, i ran out of sleep, having discovered something a few hours ago heartbreaking as well, i came on KZbin & saw this episode. Praying for His comfort, healing & peace for you both. What God has been teaching me is the heartbreak we experience at present is protection from greater pain & damage down the road we might not be aware of. Sometimes it’s redirection, sometimes its a shift of focus for the season, sometimes it’s putting Isaac on the altar, sometimes its Ismael showing up before the promise Isaac. We live life looking forward but understand it looking backwards, we might not understand today but we know all thing work together for our good, even this. We see the corner but our Shepherd sees around the corner, we see the mountain & He sees around the mountain. Yes He speaks to us & confirms His Word, but also people make their choices (that mustn’t lead us to think we heard God wrong, the person just made their own choice). We pray above all things that you will prosper, be in health even as your soul prospers. We cover you, your loved ones & everything concerning you with the blood of Jesus. He is faithful, the good work He started in you He will complete.
