@schutendohkji5487 ай бұрын
@@agorman1341Yes. I like the Trench Gun = 18.5"bbl pump. I guess manual pumping is more reliable bc. it doesn't use gas but human muscles n the mechanism aint comp- licated as the gas powered gun and the unburnt powder n carbon spitting the plumbing n the mechanism won't fowl up the gun operation as much? And it's nut(not) hard to pump w even ur LH even if ur a RH-der? I don't have BPS to know that. But w a Remington M870 Wingmaster, the pumping is EZ. N, i dink the A5 needs more muscles nut bc. of shooting it but to taking its bbl off and putting it back on to the rcvr. Dat operation requires two men. One to push down the bbl while the other to loosen or tighten that magazine screw under tension. Thus, the A5's recoil spring is the weight lifter's dream, nut mine. So, if ur smart, once the rings r matched up w ur favorite shell load, don't touch it. Don't try to take out the bbl again. Yes, clean the bbl from the muzzle nozzle. Dat's the best advice. I aint gonna goto a body building gym. But mayb u would, just to prove urself datto ur an Übermensch! Oops! i dink using a snake instead of the traditional stiff rod, u can clean the bbl from the ejection port. i don't hv a snake so i don't know if dat'll work. Dear Shootsnakes, pls don't steal our eggs. There's nobody here but us chickens. On the other hand, the brand new Browning Sweet 16 (16Ga) would s/b EZr to do ur take-down operation. Unlike the bbl recoiling, just the bolt does using the gas. She has that famous Whale (a Humpback Whale) rcvr too. The co. calls it Kinetic Recoil Operation. Unlike Mr. John Moses Browning's Humpback all steel A5, the new version uses Aluminum. For any young shooters who attends girls' Topper Wear parties, who cares if the new version is all composite (a fancy name for plastic with or without some glass fibers) or AluuMinie-Uhm (the way Brits pronounce the chemical Element, Al). Besides, machining steel is more expensive for the makers than AluuMinie-Uhm. If ur a machinist, u would rather make dings outta Al vs. steel. It saves replacing the cutting tool too often to meet the machining tolerance required. Just do the magnet test if u want steel. Even stainless steel sticks. The new Remington M870's trigger guard is i dink, plastic. So what? Topper Wear is plastic too n so as Gluck Luck. US gun makers have fallen a lot to cut costs, cheap, cheap chirp chirp ...peep!

The cartridge enters the chamber thanks to such a detail as the cartridge stop. When the barrel, together with the bolt, opens to its rearmost position after firing, this part blocks the cartridge in the magazine. But after the barrel returns to the forward position, it unlocks this part, allowing the cartridge to be sent to the carrier. 0:59

Even with this excellent illustrated video, I still can't see what ejects the empty shell in an A5. I looked for the ejector action in all the different angles shown here without success. ~~~ The A5 is a feat of mechanical genius. All those moving parts shouldn't work nearly so well, but they do.
@brianwade41792 жыл бұрын
There is an ejector on the left side of the rear of the barrel extension. When the gun fires, recoil pushes the barrel and bolt to the rear. Once the barrel reaches its rearmost position, the bolt locks in place at the rear of the receiver and the recoil spring concealed in the forearm starts bringing the barrel forward. As the forward-moving barrel extension passes the shell base, the ejector hits the shell base and kicks the spent case out of the receiver through the ejection port. If there happens to be a shell in the magazine, it will be dispensed into the receiver, triggering the elevator to lift the shell and the bolt to close upon it, thereby chambering it. At that point the gun is ready to fire again.

@jeriannking44735 жыл бұрын
Ask John Browning, I'm sure he had a good reason. It's a shame he didn't consult you for your vast gun design expertise. He might have designed the gun much differently. (Sarc.) From the little I know and have learned, the barrel recoiling during the shot was in part to soften felt recoil, while at the same time using the energy to eject the spent hull and set up the subsequent reloading process. Putting a longer magazine tube adds more forward weight that's not needed, making the gun more unwieldy. It already holds 5 rounds, how many is enough? Most are plugged anyway to reduce capacity to 3 rounds. You need sufficient barrel length to utilize the powder burn and also choke down the load. Sufficient length also adds a sighting plane. Read the book on John Browning. 'John M. Browning- American Gun Maker'. It will answer most of your questions.

If it does, it is most likely not set up correctly for the load you are using. It can be set for light birdshot loads up to deer slugs with no problems, but you must assemble it correctly for the purpose. The springs and rings are adjustable. The original A5's were built by FN, since browning could not come to an agreement with (iirc) Winchester, and the owner of Remington died while it was being discussed. Browning did not want to wait for the dust to settle, or deal with the new heirs, so he approached FN. There are 2 licensed copies but neither includes the loading shut off lever. And yes, the entire barrel recoils with every shot, just like the big guns on ships, to reduce recoil, which you know is a product of combustion vs mass in motion. I own the 12ga. "Light twelve" A5, made by FN.
