There are a few comments mocking Gary on the bag etc. Number 1 this was Gary much older. He would be 80 now if alive. 2. He wasn’t going full out on the bags etc 3. The best fighters in the world who trained, worked the door with him all verify him. A legend for sure.

I knew of Gary Spiers and basically you can’t acquire a reputation in a city like Liverpool without merit he was a complete one off there will never be another of his ilk Spiers was a Legend the company he kept says it all.

So cause he's older he has lost basic punching technique? that makes no sense also being a bouncer doesn't mean you can fight Lenny McLean was a bouncer didn't know how to fight a brawler I have heard no one call this man a legend other than you this isn't 1980 anymore fighting has evolved.

I think the measure of Spiers isn’t just that Terry O’Neil & Denis Martin revered him , but even Stephen French , not exactly a modest fucker himself , admitted in his autobiography , “I couldn’t fight him , he’d have broken me to pieces”

Bob Jones…pffft! He wouldn’t see me, (sent two of his students to tell me no), when I arrived in person asking on behalf of Gary and JT, to host Gary in Melbourne, at Bobs Dojo. Everyone I approached said no, as they saw his teachings as ‘non traditional’ putting it lightly. Water under the bridge now, but yeah ‘Bob’🤔😂

I used to train with a guy called Reg in Stockport who was ex SF.. (I think all ex SF line to call themselves Reg 😂) Nicest guy on the planet but with a death stare and fk me, the techniques he would employ in H2H combat were 👌🏼.. it was about ENDING the situation. Not scrapping or fighting. Spiers was a hard man.. but we all know someone who would wipe the floor with him given the opportunity.
