Prior to 1972, the Pacific Gray Whales of San Ignacio Lagoon were known to local fishermen as the "devil fish", due to the whale's power and ferocious temperament.
Until abuelo Francisco (Pachico) Mayoral, tamed the whales. 50 years later, his descendants still share his connection with the whales of San Ignacio Lagoon.
Join us this spring for a quick getaway for the most amazing whale interactions on the planet.
Baja is the only place in the world where gray whales (Eschrichtius robustus) swim up to pangas to be stroked, petted, kissed, and even hugged. It’s incredible. Interaction is entirely on the whales’ terms, with mama whales even pushing their calves against the side of the boats to be stroked. Nobody should miss out on this experience.
