Just starting on my own journey here for an A-10 sim. Will be years in the making, but I'm excited to combine all of the hobbies I have had over the years into this huge project. And learn a million new skills too!

It's awesome to do. Will you be using DCS? Also make sure to check out my other videos for tips which can greatly help you along the way. I will be publishing two more videos soon that are related to building / assembly, so stay tuned! Thanks for the comment ✌

@@joshuamarius Thanks! I just subscribed to your channel - yeah, will use DCS. Planning to use it maybe half time in VR and half with a big screen - but I have a long way to go, literally just created my first component: the standby compass.

Great setup! Unfortunately don't have the spare dollars for all those 'simgear' panels, so are building a VR 'touch' instrument panel were encoders/switches/controls are placed on plywood panels in the position were they are in the real aircraft. This is so you can just reach out and adjust them without the immersion breaking reaching for a mouse. Working great so far. All the best.

I am a big Aviatek fan and a lot of those components look like what comes off their citation sim. did they sell you the parts? I would like to start buying them too as I know they make the best stuff. As an aside I wish they/we could crowdsource a group of people to commission them to make other components ( I sure from a business standpoint they cant take the risk of building/paying for molds/etc if things dont sell but would be great if a largeish group of people would commit to purchasing additional components that they design, build etc Also - what citation plane in xplane do you fly? Im sure it has be be very good software to equal your hardware build

You can contact Aviatek and let them know of your project to see if they can assist. The Citation Mustang is available by RWDesigns in X-Plane. Unfortunately the Aircraft is a incomplete and has some quirks so you have to modify it quite a bit.

Awesome work man! Where did you find those master warning and master caution push buttons??? I’ve been looking for those with no luck. You created a badass sim and a great way to keep those skills up when you’re chilling at home. 🤙 I bet flying your sim is a blast! I’m in the process of building a King Air 350i sim but still have a lot of research to do. I love electronics and am ok at programming but definitely want to learn the technical ins and outs of working with flight sim SDKs.

Thanks for the comments. I'll be posting more soon so please make sure to share these videos (to help others) and subscribe. I get different components from different manufacturers. For example, Ruscool has many accessories for the 350i, and if you scroll down you will find the Master/Caution buttons as well: www.ruscool.co.nz/King-Air-B350/

Fortunately, for me, I want one for space sims. So I don't have to be precise with measuring tape and calipers to get a 1:1 reproduction, I can go in whatever direction feels more comfortable. Unfortunately for me, I want one for space sims, so there's nothing I can measure and use as a baseline to get started with. I can, however, find a very comfortable(and hopefully affordable) seat from a car/truck at a scrap yard, and build around that. When I finally get to a place with enough room for this, I hope to find one that has built in heated seats(or just get one of the covers that plugs into an accessory socket) for added bling.

step 0: get a decent job or a loan or a credit card with at least $20k so you can afford to build proper sim ;-)
