Just today I listened to some architects discuss the power of drawing and drawings. This video seems the perfect example of when drawing and drawings can be very useful. Looking at this dirt the builder sees all that is to be clearly and other viewers do not.

Where do you put drain tile? Can that all just be below the slab on the interior?
@uptokode8 ай бұрын
Drain tile is on the exterior right beside the footing and only on the basement where there’s backfill on one side and empty basement on the other. In other words NO drain tile required on the back walkout wall where it’s backfill on both sides of the foundation.

Thats the minimum depth in Canada, some places have deeper frost penetration.

Is it possible to make a walk out basement on flat land?
@uptokode3 жыл бұрын
Essentially it would be a 2 storey house.

How much of a land gradient is considered "too steep" for a walk out basement & house foundation. (I hope my question makes sense as I have no clue about construction).

I’m not aware of any specific rule for the slope. I know for footings you can’t go higher than 2 foot rise at a time with a minimum of a 2’ run. That will give you an idea.

Monolithic slab.

Depends on where you live. We are sub-zero 6 months out of the year. A frost wall is by far the most energy efficient. No floating around.
