Price of the menus in michelin stars depend on what you go for, if you ask me, this is an experience as much as going to a football match or a concert of an artist that you like, people spend their money in what they think is worth. If you are passionate about food this is not overpriced, it’s a source of inspiration.

Right. I agree. It’s the presentation, the ambiance, the art of cooking (methodology and ingredients), professionalism and courtesy from staff, and knowledgeable head chef you’re paying for. Hopefully more times than not you get your money’s worth and leave satisfied with an unforgettable experience.

I mean, it actually makes me sad how ignorant they are, like properly sad. I guess it’s knowing that they are depriving themselves of a beautiful experience on purpose. Like, truly, not once have I left a Michelin Starred restaurant where I wasn’t completely full and satisfied. Sometimes I was so full that I couldn’t even finish dessert! And yes, it was expensive, but what the heck, sometimes the best things in life cost money and it’s nice to indulge on special occasions. I mean, I get the sense that you would have to drag these philistines kicking and screaming just to enjoy something above McDonald’s, let alone this gorgeous restaurant. So depressing…

I'm sure it would at least be an interesting experience to go to a Michelin star restaurant and eat fancifully plated unique dishes, but I also completely understand why someone would not see the merit in it.

People are actually clueless about this kind of food so let me educate you 1. Michelin places are not generally overpriced when you pay 400€ for 10 courses with an array of special ingredients only sourced from the best and freshest places this already adds up and you definitely can‘t just replicate that level of produce 2. The time spent to prepare these dishes. Chefs put in hours of time preparing just a single part of a dish and this is not just for show. They use different techniques like smoking, braising, reducing etc. , while also considering balance of flavors, textures etc. . Again this is a tideous process which you definitely can‘t just replicate at home and again it‘s not just for show but actually for incomparable flavor. 3. This type of cooking should be considered Art and it‘s not just simply cooking it‘s dedication to craft in an unrealistic and perfectionist way that is not suitable for day to das life nor should it be. This does not mean regular dishes can‘t taste amazing but this is about creating completiy new flavor combinations you would otherwise never try. And it really does taste like art, I can say from personal experience I‘ve eaten at places like these a couple of times in my life (like 5 times) I have also travelled around the world and eaten all types of other food so I can compare and it‘s just a totally different experience. Also this doesn’t mean there aren‘t dishes that do compare flavorwise to the level of michelin dishes but it‘s just different. Michelin ist about pushing bouandries of flavor and what‘s possible with food. But obviously a dish perfected by a grandma over 50 years can compare but it‘s just different approaches. If you‘re skeptic I understand but you have to try for yourself to make a fair judgement in my opinion. Also if you‘re not into experimenting with flavors yourself and like to try new stuff, this probably is not for you which is fine too. Coming back to price in my experience the price is justified for the ingredients, time spent plus all other costs like rent, staff( which are also not just your regular sus chefs and servers) etc. so yeah

I guess no one will probably read all that but if you do appreciate it and yeah just be open minded. I do understand that if your only seeing videos like this it does look pretencious, also sometimes it is but a lot of the times it also isn‘t. Cheers
