Mam, I think if our 1% of young generation see this video and constantly think about their habits than he will find that not only 50% of day going in worry but our whole past filled with that things.Mam our whole problem is we give values only to negative emotions and thoughts and we become weak day by day.This was something which happend with me but someday i read some very bold man making quotes my Swami Vivekananda "DO NOT FEAR OF ANYTHING" than there i think my all feelings are fake.This is none other than me which making myself weaker and weaker again and again.Than i hold one hand with my swamiji and with one hand i am doing all works in my life.Either i loose or win i found that my swamiji and my bajrangbali is with me in any circumtances. I understand your predicament. For more information, Google and read about mindfulness meditation from scientific sources. Eventually you can dive more deeply in vedanta when you are ready. Just start where you are. Don't imagine the goal, or how you will eventually turn into, just be radically honest with yourself. And you will naturally become familiar with the how, the process. Once you are aware of the technique... you will reach a point where the technique will not be necessary (be patient). There are many things that can happen, for e.g. you will become more open, your tendency to judge yourself and others will decrease in intensity, you will forgive yourself and others more easily. Trust the process, if you can't that's ok too, internally try to just 'see' your own mind. If you get caught in the natural flow of life, find a few seconds (literally... no need for hours), to reset... i.e. stop, breathe, observe your breath.. watch your mind and accept everything in there, emotions, thoughts, doubts ... everything... over time, you will see more and more... as if the light intensity is increased in a poorly lit room. You will even drop the notion that you are progressing... or not, everything will be seen as is, including suffering, expectations etc... Your karma will unfold the way the universe decides and you will touch on understandings that cannot be described in words. The key is not to try to manage your internal mental events... just let it be. If your tendency is to suppress, watch that too, that's ok. You are at the mercy of negative thinking only if you not aware of their presence. And more and more your conviction about who you really are will unfold. :) Old IITK person here... :) Happy to see IITK bringing these teachers in, wish I had them when I was studying there.

REPLACING THE NEGATIVE EMOTION WITH POSITIVE EMOTION HAS TO BE DONE BY YOURSELF - NO ONE ELSE CAN DO IT FOR YOU. ONCE YOU START READING HOLY SCRIPTURES AND START DOING MEDITATION, THEN YOU WILL START UNDERSTANDING IT GRADUALLY.JUST LIKE ANY EXAMINATION ---- IF YOU KEEP LOOKING AT HOW AM I GOING TO GET GOLD MEDAL THEN IT IS NOT GOING TO FALL ON YOUR LAP JUST LIKE THAT. YOU NEED TO START PREPARING FOR IT ONE STEP AT A TIME.

@@mattstone1603 Changing one's chronic state of mind is not moving one's hand. It is something much deeper and change can be elusive, if it is to be genuine. People are plagued with mental habits that are imprinted in the mid brain (sangskar). If one is unconscious of these imprints, they must be made conscious and transmuted, or at least permanently corrected (not a simple gesture of the hand). If it were as you say, the human race would be quite different.

Increase your meditation and focus only on "Inner YOU", just ignore the eggoistic people around you. Life is full of bliss and happiness. Study the life of Holy Mother Sri Sri Sarada Ma. Allmost all the family members around her were egoistic and greedy but failed to disturb her at all. So, it's possible- practice, pactice and practice and the last bit is God's grace which will bound to flow automatically on us.
