Guess what?! I can pick up objects from the ground independently! I found this tool called The Reacher from a company called Quadtools. Turns out The Reacher was designed by a quadriplegic for quadriplegics! How neat is that?

This invention is just the ticket for quads with tenodesis! In thirty-eight years I've used several reachers of my own design. A sawed-off cattle prod, telescopic magnets, yard signs, and coat hangers. What a lucky discovery for me and others!

That's an impressive grabber. How is it for picking up a smartphone? How much do they cost?

It does really well, you just need the right angle to pick it up. It helps if there's a case on the phone. It's about $150 but worth it for my situation. I can live independently!

How much does your reacher measure? I need one but I don't know I must choose manual because I'm c4 c5 and my wrist function is up to 2/5. Can u give me any advices?

Quadriplegic people are unable to use their hands. You should change your video title to a paraplegic instead of a quadriplegic or you should be specific about quadriplegics who have partial hand movements.

I am a quadriplegic and I cannot move my hands so the title is correct. I can only lift my wrist which is how this tool operates. It was designed by a quad and for quads. All quadriplegics have impairments in their hand and it was specified in the video that you do not need hand function to operate it. If you are confused with my hand movement, it is because I use tenodesis grasp to put the tool on. I this also mention that this company has a sip n grip tool that quad's can use if you have weak wrist movement.

I see. Thanks for the clarification. I think your spinal cord injury was a partial one since you still have some wrist movement. I work with the people who are neck-down paralyzed and do not have any sort of wrist or hand movements.
