Nice video. I'd like to know how to play against short pips. I use inverted on both sides. Also, how about a how-to video on keeping in shape while in lockdown? I'm not able to play what is my utmost passion, and I want to stay in shape or be in even better shape when I go back to the table. i.e., exercises without a table in front of you. Running? Pushups? Back muscle exercises?

Besides how to handle backspin, also how to handle returns when far away (>1m) from table as SP does not have the advantage of looping using inverted rubbers. Looks like from the feedback, you need to invite Vicky back .... :)

In general with a rubber like Nittaku Moristo SP (with thick sponge e.g. 2mm) you can "roll" the ball which is a poor person's loop. You can also use the backhand top spin motion with a more open blade.

See YangYang's video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fma1ZqOKg514qck. You can do the same movement with the backhand short pips with a sufficiently thick sponge, e.g. Nittaku Moristo SP 2mm (max). Of course the loop has less spin compared to a spinny inverted rubber. Or, if the backspin is not too severe, you can hit through it with this rubber, you just need to go very low with your body and hit the ball at the highest point.

Hi Yang-Yang, Loved the video! Started playing short pimples on my backhand and am struggling not on receiving topspin balls, but opening on backspin, especially after my serve. Could you give input how to do this? I don't want to open with a flick/spin because it doesn't disturb as much as a flat hit. But flathits are very error prone on backspin. What do you/Vicky recommend? Maybe you could even a follow up video on this! I'm sure most people would love to see Vicky again! :)
