"Control" can have both positive and negative connotations. Control over others is evil, but self-control is good. To help others effectively, you must first be able to control yourself.

Spot-on! A mechanism which in many cases is rooted in negative experiences (even trauma) early in life. In the words of Ryan North: "Our brains are wired for connection, but trauma rewires them for protection. That`s why healthy relationships are difficult for wounded people.” Thus, being a sigma can be a working and fighting attempt to stay somewhat within normality, despite having had to deal with issues so tough that they normally push a person into the realm of schizoid personality disorder. There is only so much resilience towards the temptation of becomming an utter recluse - that bit is worth protecting.

After a sigma try to fix problems and save people but its constantly rejected as being mean to tell them the hard truth to their face. They close off, watch the world burn and people say they have cold heart. Sigma dont have cold heart, they are heartless because they gave it to others.

For me, I'm simply not interested in getting involved with most people. I see them as burdens that bring trouble into my life. What’s the point? Most people are blessed with all their limbs and senses, so they can take care of themselves. I choose the people I want to be with and treat the rest respectfully, but that’s where it ends. I only help people in real need. Having worked in various companies, I don’t bother connecting with people unless it benefits my business. I don’t know if this qualifies as a "sigma male" trait, but most intelligent or highly educated people don’t waste time on costly relationships that drain time, energy, and money. It's foolish to do so. Sadly, many cling to unproductive, wasteful relationships-whether family, friends, or work-related. Be selective and vigilant; you only have about 100 years to live, if you’re lucky.

I somewhat resonate with this although I wouldn’t consider myself a true sigma, but rather a product of my circumstances. I’m 24, I have an autoimmune disorder that I’ll never be free of, my family has a history of mental problems, and I have had to watch all of my grandparents, both of my uncles, two of my aunts, and my father die in the past 4 years. For the longest time I have not felt like a real person, but as time goes on and I continue to endure, things seem like they may be different. I thought happiness was lost to me, now I realize that in order to be happy you must first believe in the possibility of happiness. Let the dead be at peace, but for as long as I continue to draw breath, I must live and be happy.

I wonder how much the male personality archetypes are influenced by the myers-briggs personality profiles or vice versa. I'm an INTJ which makes me quiet, reserved, introverted and intuitive, but I'm also definitely a Sigma in that I'm not confrontational, but I don't take crap from anyone either. I also like to help others--which is probably why I was an MP in the Army, a civilian officer and a firefighter, but at the same time I have zero patience for bs >D
