I'm a tile guy and a casual skater. This type of stuff is super interesting to me. Those guys are super red and i love their whole ethos. They build it, they skate it, they love it. That's how you get an excellent final product. Awesome job boys.

I cant wait to get some more experience in the field (evergreen please hit me up if you need an intern). I hope to be running a design build firm in the future!

I started skating in 1986, we had a skatepark in Milwaukee called the Turf a concrete park built in 1980 closed in 1983, it reopened in 1987. In Rockford, IL we had Rotation Station a former roller rink. In my home town in Lake county IL, we had a small indoor park in a former J.C. Penny's in the basement. It was named after the two high school sports teams.

They've sure moved on since the days of the Waihi bowl Rotary weekend type construction! First bowl ever in NZ 1976, that I skated as a kid a few days after it was built. Gnarly Bert's and (mostly) wipeouts shared with the adult surfers on the gently sloped but ROUGH concrete!

Me being a BMX rider of 37 years have noticed that todays skateparks are not built for BMX & skateboards , it just Skateboards . Very seldom do come across one that’s built for both . With skateparks of today the reason they don’t let BMX bikes in skateparks is because we the BMX Community are labeled a liability & I don’t understand that & that seams not to be fair to one specific Community. Is it that a BMX bike can chip or crack the concrete or is it running steel pegs on rails or is it a mixture of both , I guess I,ll never no , & that’s because communities never tell BMX riders why we the BMX Community are labeled a liability & it sucks . I think they should either build a skatepark for both or if skaters get a skatepark so should the BMX Community also , that’s only fair .
@bopo9002 жыл бұрын
maybe the same reason that there are bmx parks that wont let skateboarders in. why is it if a skater should get a park then a bmx community to. then the bobsledders should get their new track, then the pogo jumpers should get their new park. all because someone created a skate park. why do you concider it the same sport? im for it that every sport should get their own zone. but saying i should get it because a skater got it is wrong. if you gonna watch a SKATEBOARD channel then ofc you gonna see a skate park. watch some bmx channels. i bet you can find what you are looking for.
@robbiewilson2142 жыл бұрын
Pegs, trucks, whatever, we’re all chunking away the concrete so I think it’s a pretty criticism. I honestly think we should have separate parks tho because BMX lines and skater lines are absolutely not the same, and it makes sharing the traffic absolutely hectic. Bikes move so fast, unless you know the exact line someone’s going for, you can never be sure if you’re gonna snake or get snaked
