This video takes us to Illgau, a small village nestled in the mountains of central Switzerland in the canton of Schwyz, with about 780 inhabitants. There, we meet one of the very few zither makers in Switzerland, Fredy Heinzer. He provides detailed information on how this wonderful instrument is built, from the basic material to the finished product. We learn a lot about his secrets and extraordinary skill in handling wood, and why these unique instruments sound so brilliant.
Of course, the video features music, and at the end, we hear two formations from Unterรคgeri Canton Zug. Finally, the video showcases some magnificent aerial views of Illgau, surrounded by mountains and forests.
This video has three premieres. Firstly, it's the first time I'm publishing a full feature documentary. Secondly, it's in 4K resolution, and thirdly, it features Swiss German in pure Muotathal dialect as the leading language. To aid understanding, edited subtitles are available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and Russian.
I hope you enjoy watching this video.
Yours sincerely,
Alain Hospenthal
