Thanks for sharing this video. My takeaway: Remember 1. "seek out tough moments: hardship, crisis. This is where we learned when we meet our end the learning begins; the transformation happens" esp. with teams 2. in tough times, shout out "easy day, we've got this, hooyah!" 3. "focus on others in your moments of despair" 4. "allow others to put their hands on your back"

I had a sense of humour failure (as we call these incidents in bootcamp) during my national service, but, after they were done laughing, my squadmates pulled me out of the mud I'd almost sunk to the waist into, helped clean me up as best we could manage and we carried on carrying on. A very tough experience, for sure, but one I'm thankfull to have had.

I was married for 15 years with 3 kids my mother in law passed then my wife filed for divorce then my mom had a stroke and passed then my now ex wife’s divorce was finalized. I did promise my kids I wouldn’t kill myself but I truly don’t want to live. A man without a purpose in life is a very miserable thing. Yes I told my kids I would never commit suicide but that morning I woke up and thought that I was having a heart attack and my next thought was well I can have another hour and have a sleep if I go to bed right now and I pray for cancer I pray for hardtack kill me now God get done with this I will not fight that

Such an amazing video. Who screwed with his mic?
@KiwiCatherineJemma5 жыл бұрын
Yes my thoughts exactly. I guess that their "ggod quality" sound from the lapel mic somehow died and they had to use the camera's built in mic, as the only available backup sound available. Better than nothing for sure, but I'm unlikely to watch this video again, as I have to have the volume turned up so loud that it hurts yet the clarity of the actual audio is still just barely understandable. Hopefully during that particular TEDx it was just this one speaker thus affected and not all of them !
