@mickbanner Doesn't matter as Doku's boot, studs shouldn't be above the waist. A high-boot is "Dangerous Play". "player makes a reckless or dangerous play for the ball by kicking above the waist level of an opposition player. High boot moves are exemplified by the motion where a player leads with the studs of his boot. Such moves make other players prone to hurtful contact." Referee and VAR need to study the rule book. 🤣

My favourite part of the season so far by a mile, is when Diaz has that crazy run against rodri and Walker, then the camera pans up to his dad. I honestly just about started crying. The sheer pride and emotion on his dads face and the commentator said "how proud would you be to be that mans parents".. well thay was me. 😭😂! What a moment! When you think about what that family has been through, the fight Diaz showed in that moment really captured everything about that story.

Rules in relation to a high-boot (Dangerous Play): "player makes a reckless or dangerous play for the ball by kicking above the waist level of an opposition player. High boot moves are exemplified by the motion where a player leads with the studs of his boot. Such moves make other players prone to hurtful contact." It's a foul by the rules of the game and a clear penalty. The referee and VAR have yet again got it wrong.

"The following fouls are punished with an indirect free kick as long as there is no contact (contact fouls require a direct free kick): playing dangerously* e.g. high foot (no contact) obstructing/impeding an opponent's progress** (no contact) preventing/blocking a goalkeeper from releasing the ball from their hands" I suggest reading and comprehending the rules in relation to Football before making loudious statements.

Or, if we want to take doubt of the occasion or the biases. Mane vs Ederson a few years ago. Doku & Mane both following the ball with their eyes, but both raise their foot into a high position that could cause injury to the opposition player they are up against. Mane is sent off directly (correctly, his foot was higher and catches Ederson's head) and Doku gets away with it somehow.

Nunez was having a great game. Was the reason why we could collect the balls in between the lines by constantly running into space. City fan here, from the second Mac Allister scored the tone shifted entirely - up until that point I could hear the city fans “boys in blue” chant but from them on it was purely the roar of Liverpool fans and the team instantly responded to it, they were far and away the better team in that second half and I think we got outrageously lucky that the foul was not given. That draw was incredibly important for us though, had we lost it would’ve felt like Liverpool would run away with it, especially considering they have arguably the easiest remaining fixtures between us. It’s going to be an exciting 10 weeks that’s for sure…
@mikeguinness5408
@mikeguinness5408 3 ай бұрын
It should be an exciting next 10 matches. I looked at the fixtures for all 3 clubs and IMO your City boys have it easiest. We all have 5 home and 5 away matches. You lot have 4 clubs (Arsenal, Villa, Wolves, West Ham) currently in the top half of the table at home and 2 (Spurs and Brighton & Hove) in the top half away. Arsenal at home will be your toughest match. We, Liverpool, have 3 home matches vs top half sides (Brighton & Hove, Spurs, and Wolves) and 3 away matches vs top half sides (United, West Ham, and Villa). Arsenal only have 1 home match vs a top half side and that's vs Villa, but ALL 5 of their away matches are vs top half sides: City, Brighton & Hove, Wolves, Spurs, and United. With such a tough away schedule I think Arsenal drops some points. I think it comes down to City v Liverpool, which is why we needed to win this match and go 4pts clear of City. We're going to have to be nearly perfect these last 10 matches to stay ahead of City since their schedule is a bit easier than ours. Just as this match ending in a draw was the best thing for Arsenal then the best thing for Liverpool would be for City v Arsenal to also end in a draw so neither side collects 3pts. Glad we only have 3 matches the rest of this month (maybe the EPL will reschedule the match away to Everton for later this month) as it will give our banged up walking wounded more opportunity to get fit for the stretch run. It'd be nice to edge City by a point for the title for a change.

On the penalty shout, even if Doku gets the ball first it is irrelevant, he has to put his foot high and dangerously to do so, and the contact with the player is either simultaneous, or immediately after the touch. Therefore it cannot be argued Mac Alister arrived late and simply ran into Doku to buy a foul (as some have claimed). Stonewall penalty.

We either lose 0-1 or win 2-1, both penalties are like for like, City not anticipating that a Liverpool player wants it more and them slipping in and touching the ball drawing a foul, fucking ridiculous, even if you think it's not a penalty, it's very strange how these instances happen creating point swings for City, I.e Rodri handball, or them getting the weakest pen in prem history vs United this season

For almost the entire game, Foden/Haaland would press Van Dijk ASAP if he's about to receive the ball, but at around 80-85th minute, Pep and his team gave up on getting 3 points, they completely stopped pressing Van Dijk, it's like they were begging Michael Oliver to blow the FT whistle. There was only 1 team truly looking for the win without fear.

Honestly i as a Liverpool fan don't get why klopp took darwin off. He was playing brilliantly and almost scored if not only for a good moment by ortega. Gackpo came on and did absolutely horse shit. That's where we drew the game for me

I have to say, I am so proud of that performance from Liverpool yesterday. Like the title said, we are riddled with injury’s and usually struggle to dominate the midfield, but we were the better team. Klopps tactics were spot on. BUT imo taking Darwin off for Gapko killed our momentum for me. He is so out of form vs Darwin being in great form, plus he was winning every header and such a threat with his pace. The one fault in an otherwise perfect performance

Penalty... Not heard one person say no pen. Irrespective if he gets ball first or not.. Boot is high and endangering a player. Red cards are been awarded for over physical fouls and this qualifies as kicking someone in chest on any other area of pitch ref would immediately stop play.

correct about Alvarez, he was so poor on that left side. But KDB should've stayed on alongside Kova, any chance of getting another goal for City died with that sub. Pep often makes too many mistakes in big games

Managers allowed 2 Ref Challenges per game.... only way to counter corruption / incompetence. This isn't about petulance. It provides a counter balance opportunity by each team to Challenge the ref to go to the monitor manually review a situation, and demand explanation of their decision making in real time. This creates a context for accountability. The Ref today, will not want to have their decision making or lack of highlighted by potential challenge. The manager has the opportunity to demand a review

A question for me is how did VAR let the City goal stand? Ake was in an offside position blocking Macca from defending the goal. Ake made no intention to play the ball and was pushing Macca. If the same VAR rules are applied from the League Cup in which Liverpool's goal by Virgil was ruled a No Goal because Endo was in an offside position blocking Colwill, then this City goal should not have stood. Further studs to the chest is a foul. In a way EPL is rigged for certain teams as ref/VAR are scared to make calls against certain teams and by that I mean City.

The best thing Liverpool did to get at Man City is Kelleher lobbing the ball into the centre of the field… even if City won the header Macca and Endo in most situations could cut the ball out or make the tackle… it gave Liverpool a lot of pressure on the Center backs of City… if you noticed in the last twenty minutes city didn’t press at all… genius from Klopp… but I must say we missed Jota in this game he is so clinical in finishing

Haaland absolutely nonexistent. Rodri was shown up big time. Pep got it wrong in the second half. Liverpool shown everyone in the league how to cause City problems, you have to cause chaos, press, have way more energy than them. Thought Elliott was brilliant on both ends and had unlimited energy. Endo was amazing, so many of Liverpool's chances came from Endo winning tackles in midfield. Mac Allister is world world class. Ortega was impressive when he came on. Still think he's a better shot stopper than Ederson. City got away with murder at the end. that's a stone wall pen and borderline red card. Studs into the chest is unacceptable. The handball chat is silly, its in the armpit and on the sleeve. It doesn't matter who gets the ball, his studs go into his chest, at a normal chest height. It a very obvious penalty. I'm surprised there is even debate over this. Thought it was certainly getting overturned, to the point where I didn't even react to it not getting given originally and just went "VAR will get that". Thought Walker was very lucky to not see red for the challenge on Salah. It's 2 foot off the ground, studs up and with force. Refs are so inconsistent with this rule.

Was just saying elsewhere, the MC players looked really really tired second half. I was in the main stand at Anfield and you could see Rodri in particular struggling for breath at times when we were taking corners and he was stood gasping. Even Haaland looked like he was blowing a bit. Arteta needs to get Arsenal to just go full throttle at them. Klopp has a better head to head record over Pep than anyone which shows they don't cope as well with pressing teams.

VAR is farking useless in this game. It took Paul Tierney only 20 seconds to back up Michael Olivier’s decision not to make a decision. Seriously, it’s such a monumental decision, VAR takes minutes to rule whether a player is offside or not, and Tierney somehow manages to make an instant decision. Did VAR even watch the playback more than once? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
