Can I make something clear - Boehly only owns 10% of the club so these big decisions aren’t his but Clearlake and the main man criminal Egbahli

Chelsea fan here. He walked. It's so obvious that he walked. And who can blame him, with our ridiculously entitled, whiny, Roman-era, merry-go-round-hypnotized fucking fanbase. I'm so fucking pissed.

We'll know more as the leaks unfold. Poch had dinner with Boehly as you read out and then on Sat or Sun he met with Eghbali and again on Mon with him and the two Directors. Looks like they could not come to an agreement and decided to part ways. IF they go with DeZerbi that is the opposite of a young up and coming manager, someone who is moldable almost. Or am I missing something.

I feel like in the last 10yrs we have a shortage of #10s playmakers/dribble kings. like in the 2010s we had messi, iniestsa, david silva, cazorla, hazard, fabregas, coutinho, kaka etc...these days most of the #10s are playing as #8s or false #9s
@theMoerster14 сағат бұрын
Pochettino has a system that requires his type of players playing his type of ball. It works when he gets the time to build that. That's why I never understood the hire in the first place because there is no way Chelsea would ever give that kind of time to any manager.

So done 😐 Can this ownership not see that the poor perfmance over the last few season is directly related to the constant turmoil of new owner, players, managers and backroom staff? Similarly, do they really think the recent upturn in form is unrelated to this (young) team finally having a single manager across the season? Pochettino was not ‘the’ man for the job, he was not going to win us many trophies, but he was more than capable of steadying the ship, allowing this team to click and calm the ever changing storm that has been Chelsea since RA left - he would have set the stage for a world class manager to come in and concentrate on winning trophies and taking things up a level - no elite manager wants to come in and sort out this shit show because it damaged their image when they don’t succeed immediately - changing managers every five minutes is not only not going to see improvements in the football, but it’s going to catastrophic for the development of these young players, constantly being coached differently and never allowed to settle and feel at home. I cannot fathom the stupidity. Get these useless business men out of my football team.

I’m a Chelsea fan & I felt that they should have stuck with Poch when he was starting to get results with a whole new bunch of young players and still managed to finish 6th despite the inconsistency. Definition of 1 steps forward 2 steps back. Frustrating as a Chelsea fan. Shocking decision by the owners.

So happy, we deserve this. Been terrible for 9 months but people changed their tune after 5 games, of which we played well for a game and a half where Cucurella inverted to midfield, then straight back to no tactics and got lucky against Brighton, Bournemouth, Forest. Not to mention lucky against United, terrible against Arsenal, couldn't beat relegation sides Sheffield and Burnley. Mentioned by heaps of ex players under Poch about his injury ridden training methods. Lots of mentioned while in France about his lack of tactics and game in management. He put this club in 12th, then got praised for getting them out of the position he put them in by playing everyone out of position, no tactics in build up, attacking flow, defensive style, set piece knowledge, anything what so ever.
@colourmegreene676115 сағат бұрын
Only based Chelsea fan here. We struggled against Bournemouth on the final day but just because we got lucky Poch is some kind of saviour…. This is the most inconsistent Chelsea side we’ve ever seen, and consistently we would perform worse in the second half after poch spoke to them, hadn’t got a clue either when it came to subs. Been on the poch out train since day 1 and happy he’s gone. He would have bottled the EL league phase next year and has us struggling against fiorentina or olympiacos
@granth123814 сағат бұрын
@@colourmegreene6761 100%, all these are spot on, had so many chances all season and waited until January to start implementing any tactics. Could have rotated so much more with academy players for some small game time at least. He was fine for a season to get us back to some stability, but he'd have been sacked by November next season anyway so may as well get in a new coach that can work with team in pre-season. Everyone wanted him out all season, then 10 games where we were average in 8.5 of them, only good against Spurs and 2nd half of Villa and suddenly he's the savior, as you said.

Just a thought - not sure I agree with the bit in the form of the last portion of the season. Tuchel only just finishing 3rd when they were on for the league initially was pretty predictive of them starting badly the following season and him getting sacked. Leicester’s great escape and the form then seemed to propel them the next year
@TerribleEnglish18 сағат бұрын
So, they were happy with him while results were awful, and got rid of him once things had improved a lot? Interesting strategy.

I can see that Poch is not a bad manager. I can see he had a difficult job. I can see his failures, even during 2024 when we started getting results. We lost 5-0 to Arsenal, we dropped points to Burnley and Sheffield united in winning positions. Unforgivable failures to me but I would’ve been comfortable going into the next season with him. I am pretty confident this wasn’t a “we didn’t get top 4 and trophies, you are gone” thing like we have done for the last two decades. This really feels like a power struggle and Poch understanding he can cut the rope and leave unscathed. He knows he won’t get what he wants so he can just go find that elsewhere. It does send an ugly message though. No continuity and too much derailing all progress at this club. I know there’s a shortage of top managers in the world and we can’t just go get the best in the world like we used to but the idea of hiring a guy managing Ipswich just feels like a massive mistake. I feel like there’s traits that a manager has to have to succeed at Chelsea and I just don’t think a younger manager will have built them yet. This sport has changes a lot in the last two decades. We can’t continue to be the arrogant Chelsea of old, we’re no longer able to just take the best of the best from the best.
