I am pleasantly surprised when watching this video. It reminded me of when I was a child and even my adolescence. We lived with my grandparents on their property. There was a farm and a lot of land. We all helped on the farm and also to maintain the land. My grandmother had a garden that, with the help of my mother, provided for both families and a little more as well. We had fruit trees that gave abundant production which was used to make sweets that were consumed in the winter. It was a nice life, somewhat sacrificed but we were happy. These are things that have been somewhat lost today. I admire Ivan who works for a future and to maintain what he has. Excellent boy.

I’m not entirely sure why KZbin suggested this video to me but I’m glad it did. It reminded me a little of my childhood life in Scotland when I lived opposite a farm. Hearing the cuckoo took me right back to the 1960’s when I could hear birds & animals. Now much of my old home area is overspill housing for the city of Glasgow, but not much in the way of employment. I wasn’t sure why KZbin suggested this as I wondered how interesting can it be to watch people work hard on a mountain. Well, I’m glad I did watch. It reminded me of simpler times. There’s lots of thoughts & feelings I could mention about Ukraine, but let’s hope that peace returns to it soon. These people deserve it.

Boys in the US USED to do this back before the industrial revolution when we were primarily an agricultural community. Today when boys work on a farm they use heated and air conditioned combines with stereos and nice comfy seats that cost $200,000 or more!

That is a lot of potatoes, but they will be great eating in the winter! I grew up on a farm and remember planting and harvesting. We had a root cellar. We had a big garden, also raised cows and had chickens. My Mother’s Family came to the United States in 1912 from Ukraine, I am 2nd generation here. It is so beautiful where you live!

This life reminds me very much of where my Oma lived in a small village of Bavaria. Town of Radldorf. My mother was born there in 1932 and grew up during the Nazi regime amidst unspeakable hardships. She married my dad who was in the U.S. Army. He had several more tours to Germany and that's how I remember it. It was worse there.
