I love the 10mm and bought my Ruger SR1911 in 10mm on your recommendation, it been very accurate and I haven't had a malfunction yet. I have the Iver Johnson Eagle XL in 10mm and the Glock 29. Here in NY only 10 rounds unfortunately. Really like the 10mm. May have to get another.

I'm a little upset with Rock Island Armory. I have the same 10mm 1911 DS as you. In fact I bought because of a review you did a few years back. I had a problem with it not resetting after the first round and sent it in on warranty. For some reason they replaced the barrel. I'm not sure why but there was no crown cut into the muzzle when it came back. I called and asked why and was told "we don't do that anymore". I told them that that's how it was when I purchased the pistol and a feature that actually attracted me to the firearm in the first place. The guy got short with me and said "we repaired your gun and it works so there's nothing more we can do for you" and HUNG UP on me! No more RIA for me.

I like your collection, I too own the Glock 21 and love it even with it's bulky slide that reminds me of a stapler, a dozen black rubber bands keeps my hand fitment superberb, Secondly the Rock Island, it's heavier then an elephant 🐘 trunk but it's build quality is durable, however living in central Florida I have been having issues with surface rust and had to refinish the slide and a few other parts more than I'd like to remember, One day not long ago I pulled it out for inspection to see more rust in new areas, out of frustration later that day I disassemble it and started sanding away, then got some rust converter for my old frame project and give it three coats over a period of time, I then sanded and applied three handsome coats of good outdoor (desert sand) flat paint used for hunting equipment and such, To my surprise it turned out better than I expected, all of that cringing feeling disapated and she looks and great in my hands and I won't feel ashamed to show her some day because she's beautiful ! The End 😊😏

You know there are extended magazines for several 10mm pistols. It is pretty easy to adapt a korean made mag for a Glock 21 to work in a Glock 20 or 29 pitbull 10 mm.

I have a couple 10mms, Wilson combat CQB, sig Xten, Springfield armory XDM elite, tangfoglio witness Stock III and a Defiant Stock Master Extreme. Tangfoglio in my opinion makes the finest and most reliable 10mm. Sig needs to fix the magazine issue of binding with SAAMI spec ammo with COALs of 1.26. I need to make a comparison video.

You said that you have a 10mm collection, so I'm hoping you know a think or two about the S&W model 1006 and its variants. If you do, is there some sort of tier list or ranking about how good they are compared to each other, and potentially to other 10mm pistols from that time or even today?

The 1006 / 1066 etc. are excellent, well made, handguns that can pretty much hold their own against any 10mm currently out there.

I know they are fairly old and rare, on top of 10mm being somewhat unconventional in the first place, so not a lot of people talk about them, but everything I've seen says they are good. Shame the 1086 is so rare, even for the 1006 variants, since that's the one my uncle left me, but it seems that aside from a couple of things, the gun is mostly the same.
