Lately, most of the sound at professional concerts I've been to have been absolutely terrible. Way too much bass drum, and loud indistinct muddy bass thereby leaving no room for guitars, keys, vox. Impossible to hear what notes the bass is playing. You'd think most modern soundmen never heard how an album actually sounds! Hundreds of thousands of $$$ of gear, and yet they make it sound like LOUD mud.

Kids staring at the laptop instead of using the Force 😉

Concerts sounded way better when the sound engineer was turning knobs rather than typing on a laptop

The best and worst show I ever went to was a Food Fighters show in 2012. My old band was playing the same festival, so I had an artist pass. Got to stand right up front and arm's length from the stage. Sounded horrible. I was just getting blasted by the subs. I left the artist area, scooted back 100 yards. Sounded amazing. The mains were pointed my way, and most of the ugly bottom end got absorbed by the bodies in front of me. Not by coincidence, I was very close to the mixing booth when it sounded great.
