We caught up with FOH Engineer Jared Daly at the O2 arena in London as he was preparing for Bring Me The Horizon’s NeX Gen headline show. Talking us through how he tames his mammoth rig, Jared explains how he puts his dLive system to use including automation options and the DYN8 processor.

So he made it so complicated, that no one could take over. 🤔

I do FOH at my church on an Avantis and SQ7. I was following him for the first bit. Then he blew my mind when he started talking about using midi to automate scenes in Reaper. I have to step my game ALL THE WAY UP!!

Ditto. I’m here in Vegas with an SQ5 and a Waves I/O card. Searching on setting this up. Want to use wave plugins live.

@jimkegley That's the opposite of his suggestion in the video. Internal plugins are much less latency. There's a lot to consider when you start adding latency.

Same here! On a QU24 at our local theater. Would like to upgrade to an SQ5 but there is no money in the budget. This video is way beyond my needs!

If you worked with a live band who didn't use a click, you could have the same midi notes saved on different keys on a midi keyboard and you could trigger them with the band's performance. That'd be pretty fun!

How the delay compensation works on this setup?
@AllenandHeathUK
@AllenandHeathUK 4 ай бұрын
Hello Mark, Overall, this is already compensated, hence having a max latency of 0.7ms from input to output, including the use of DEEP processing. External processing may add latency, but this would need to be analysed per channel basis, as it depends what processing is being used and how much latency it generated. (Quite difficult to analyse for you in the particular case of Jared), if you need any help with this on your own setup or have any further questions, feel free to reach out at Support@allen-heath.com Thank you, Rafael
