These insurance companies pay out easily to false treatment centers but refuse to pay out for legitimate claims by individuals. smh.
@RenaMarieMusic5 жыл бұрын
Cary Ulmer this!
@lizf13535 жыл бұрын
It's not that they pay out easily it's that these people have figured out exactly how to make the paperwork exactly correct to get what they want... that's the issue with our medical system its based on red tape and if you know how the system works you can take advantage of it Meanwhile it leaves people who are going through a hard time with illness and also trying to navigate their insurance in a field of red tape... these scam artists are doing the paperwork on the addicts behalf and they do it every day all day they know how to make it look like its legitimate and that's the issue! what's worse is treatment is the only real solution to the drug epidemic we have in this country jail and prison doesn't have any effect on it and it's far more costly than a decent treatment program too... we need to as a country invest in a policy of treatment that is well regulated by both insurance and government... there are effective and time tested treatments that work like a methadone program that includes counseling and medication therapy its been used with much higher success rates then inpatient treatment detox centers for decades yet we continue to increase our idea of "drying out" addicts and putting them back in their old situation and expecting them to be fixed because they spend 28, or 90 days in a locked up house that we call a "treatment facility" addiction is no different from any other type of illness it requires medical treatment and usually it's a long term plan not 28 days of no drugs and they are cured!

Elizabeth Ferguson My point was really about how much they fight the individual who has a legitimate claim & try to convince people they don't have to pay out. That's thanks to AA meetings, AA literature, a lot of good people, and working the 12Steps VERY HARD. Sure, there's fraudsters, scammers, and bad guys everywhere, even in AA. But for YOU to say that "AA is a complete joke" only PROVES that you're a complete fucking idiot. You're the idiot. You can't "treat addiction". Only the addict or alcoholic themselves can "treat" alcoholism or addiction. Everything else, and everybody else, is only SUPPORT. AA doesn't "treat" anything. RSVP?____________________?

In Saint Paul, MN I know a sober house that makes so much money off of housing deposits. The owner of this sober house company tells so many addicts at the treatment center all this bullshit to get them to pay a deposit which is $700-1000 plus first months rent. Then they relapse the next week and don’t get the deposit back. Then the next one comes in. So if you have 3-4 people relapsing a week at $2100-2800 a month per person. Most houses have 6-10 people living in them. A great business model if you ask me. There is always money to be made in sobriety.

My power is awesome - try me you'll see. But if you do, you may never break free. Just try me once and I might let you go, but try me twice, and I'll own your soul. When I possess you, you'll steal and you'll lie. You'll do what you have to just to get high. The crimes you'll commit, for my narcotic charms, will be worth the pleasure you'll feel in your arms. You'll lie to your mother; you'll steal from your dad. When you see their tears, you should feel sad. But you'll forget your morals and how you were raised. I'll be your conscience, I'll teach you my ways. I take kids from parents, and parents from kids, I turn people from God, and separate from friends. I'll take everything from you, your looks and your pride, I'll be with you always, right by your side. You'll give up everything - your family, your home, your friends, your money, then you'll be alone. I'll take and I'll take, till you have nothing more to give. When I'm finished with you you'll be lucky to live. If you try me be warned this is no game. If given the chance, I'll drive you insane. I'll ravish your body, I'll control your mind. I'll own you completely; your soul will be mine. The nightmares I'll give you while lying in bed. The voices you'll hear from inside your head. The sweats, the shakes, the visions you'll see. I want you to know, these are all gifts from me. But then it's too late, and you'll know in your heart, that you are mine, and we shall not part. You'll regret that you tried me, they always do. But you came to me, not I to you. You knew this would happen. Many times you were told, but you challenged my power, and chose to be bold. You could have said no, and just walked away. If you could live that day over, now what would you say? I'll be your master; you will be my slave. I'll even go with you, when you go to your grave. Now that you have met me, what will you do? Will you try me or not? Its all up to you. I can bring you more misery than words can tell. Come take my hand, let me lead you to hell." Signed DRUGS 😥

@user-ou2ty3ts6k6 жыл бұрын
@@mikewiley1652 I was on it to get off of pain medication. It takes time. Sometimes as long as you've been an addict. You need to wean yourself down at the clinic. Your councilor should be discussing this with you. Hopefully you are attending group meetings or one on one sessions on how you will remain clean and NEVER go backwards. I started at 100mgs and literally tapered down to 1mg and the next thing you know, you're done. it took a couple years but was worth the fight. The thing that really helped me was seeing kids as young as 18 (younger than my own kids) looking for help. I couldn't imagine my kids having to suffer what they or I had to go thru. Do everything in your power not to relaps or you will start the cycle all over again. And whatever you do, DO NOT jump off of Methadone for ANY reason! Even tho you may think you're ok at a low dose. I did that at 10 mgs and still felt withdrawls from it. When you get down to the 10 mg mark, wean slowly if you need to. Stay at 1mg for a few weeks if you have to. Some may say you are trading one drug (FUK THEM) for another but it sure beats doing heroin or pills and going thru the pain of not having the drug. You can function and go to work verses selling yourself like some do and living in pure HELL suffering "not to get high but to feel normal" One day you will look back and truly be proud of the person you were always meant to be. It CAN be done. YOU hold that power. Always remember that. I wish you luck :)

Yes, SO Sad! Actually, I got a new chance @life @33. Right as I was about to do the drugs at the end of my block. And soon after the last time my husband had choked me.... God (only voice that I c/trust as His, bcuz I thought it had the most Peace of them all) told me to go to Teen Challenge; I thought I was too old! But it's what I needed (adult program) as I was suicidal, taking antidepressants/ anti-anxiety medication and although I was a stay home mother of 4 and married, he didn't want me no more and was kicking me out after choking me every other year. Now I was not near perfect and had a lot of issues, too which spurned it-though there's no excuse! He'd also cheated. So instead of the drugs I followed & found Jesus, Love, Forgiveness, HOPE, Community, and the Daddy I was always missing. This community consisted of addicts, prostitutes, mothers, gang members, grandmothers, dealers, church people, sex slaves... and we all found New Life & Freedom together!! We're still connected even though I returned to my own state. And I know I am loved and have Purpose now! I've got a Daddy💖! +I reconciled with my children, parents and best friend. May this bring hope to anyone reading it. God restored my life at Freedom House Teen Challenge it is a safe place to get free and clear. And I I'm so glad I gave God what HE asked for and HE gave me more even though it looks different than what I would have thought. This is why it’s important to take Insurance company’s out of the equation
@clcee5 жыл бұрын
It's actually the opposite; state and Federal governments want as many people as possible depending on them. Medicaid /Medicare and other healthcare subsidies, while much needed by individuals who are retired and /or unable to work, has expanded substantially to covering children, young adults, and the working class. Essentially a giant pool of people that governments have detailed information on and can be shared amongst the individual insurance carriers (Fidelis, United Healthcare etc.) offered through Medicaid/Medicare. When you have public subsidies, the standard for quality is extremely low. We need to stop incentivizing being low income and get people back to earning an income. There are young women who come from generations of government dependency and they see that they can have free food, free cell phone, free healthcare, and a monthly income check. they end up having more than any of us footing the bill for these subsidies.

CeeCee that’s my point, the Ppl need to demand government not allow insurance co. To run Amrkkka’s healt care
@clcee5 жыл бұрын
@@mwiluokolo9559 there will always be a need for health insurance but if it's coming out of my pocket whether as a copay or premium, we don't need our government taking more money from our taxes to pay for free healthcare for other people. The extent of the government's involvement should be limited to regulation of billing practices. Those who are supporting this "Medicare for all" idea don't understand that the issue of affordability has always resolved itself by way of competition between insurance providers. Insurance companies make their money off premiums so the more policyholders they have, the more competitive the rates become. Obama screwed everyone over by penalizing anyone who doesn't have insurance coverage and by making it impossible for employers with a small staff to offer health insurance benefits. As a result, employees were forced to purchase insurance outside of their employers or be penalized. It comes down to handouts, people have become so accustomed to government handouts that the idea of being a productive member of society is like a foreign concept. Statistically, the number of able bodied people who refuse to work and instead live off the system far outweighs the number of people who actually need it. It was never intended to be a permanent solution at the taxpayers expense.
@thedevilsadvocate52105 жыл бұрын
We should all have good healthcare provided. To have the healthcare industry as a for profit industry is demonic.
@clcee5 жыл бұрын
@@thedevilsadvocate5210 how should physicians, radiologists, surgeons, etc. be paid? Free med school? Who pays for that if medical care is offered as a free service? These are just a small portion of the problems with healthcare and why there has to be a competitive market. In the auto insurance industry, at least in NY, there is an assigned risk pool for drivers who aren't able to get an insurance policy because they're considered high risk. In order to ensure that every driver has coverage to meet the minimum requirements, insurance companies are required to insure a certain number of those who are in the assigned risk pool. A similar regulation could be done for individuals who don't qualify for standard health insurance. While Medicaid/Medicare is typically seen as the answer, it has turned the healthcare industry upside down and caused the inflation in healthcare costs. There are so many people dependent on it now as a result of Obamacare and the incentivizing of government subsidies that's it's impossible for healthcare providers to provide affordable care. Hence why the more reputable doctors and surgeons don't accept Medicaid; the reimbursement rate is extremely low.

I struggle with depression and anxiety. PTSD from childhood abuse and complex PTSD from being held hostage and experiencing every form of violence and trauma imaginable as an adult. I have voluntarily gone in to the hospital on several occasions over the past 20 years. This is what I have experienced and seen: Antipsychotics prescribed to everyone for everything. They are used for depression, anxiety, sleep. . . It's always antipsychotics first everything. A few months ago I went to a 24 hour access center because an insurance change had left me off meds. The nurse there was encouraging me to take Saphrys. She was marveling about how wonderful it was for anxiety. She had No idea that she was pushing an antipsychotic until I informed her that Saphrys was one. Everyone is given antipsychotics. This is go make everyone submissive and treatment compliant. Your treatment plan is determined by insurance coverage. My insurance covers 9 days. So for a week they act concerned, day 8 they start telling me how well I've done, how ready to be discharged and day 9 I am out the door. I have met people in hospitals who are court ordered or have the right insurance who are there for months. Taking antipsychotics and pacing the halls. I was surprised that counseling or psychotherapy are no longer offered. They no longer even pretend to care how you feel. The treat model is to pump people so full of antipsychotics that they don't notice or care that they are not receiving any professional help and that instead of therapy, a bunch of 18-20 year old minimum wage psych techs are condescending to them. I hope I never have to go to the hospital again. If my anxiety or PTSD get so bad I can't stand it, I will go to a 24 hour access center, the a dose or 2 of antipsychotics to shut it down, and then leave as quickly as possible. I will never go inpatient again. Fuck that humiliation.

I just know there is little hope out there for anyone who was forced into this sort of life as once you catch a charge you will never work a legit job again. One day we will look and see a fork and this is used to dig up that dirt,we make a hole and place that hurt , put it all in there that just don't work. Just bury that pain and walk away,there is no good in revisiting and living it over and over each day. I never, not ONE SINGLE time, looked at a file which documented a successful completion of any “program’ in which any person was narc free and living normally. Do I believe people kick opioids? Sure. They do it on their own, suffer through and deal with the consequences free from profiteers. Having overseen all of this, from top to bottom my thoughts are these: set aside a few parks in all municipalities and require the patrons to stay in the park(s) until the effects wear off or they just want leave. Give all the addict ALL THE DRUGS THEY WANT FREE OF CHARGE. Every morning send in the bag and tag crew followed by the EMTs .......Who am I to tell you what you can and cannot do to yourself? As long as no innocent is harmed, go for it. The addict will choose life or death in short order. Ive seen families bankrupted by addict children, and I think the emotional bankruptcy is worse than the financial. The addict will use every enabler up, every resource the addict can find and emotionally reach, the addict will use every dime. This decimates families and friends which wouldn’t hurt so bad if the addict they think they’re “helping” were at least interested in sobriety. They are NOT interested. The end result is the. Same every single time: destruction of the family. Severe financial ruin, holes punched in walls and doors. EVERY person involved is MUCH worst off. Give all the addicts all the want and it’ll sort itself out with as little damage to innocents s possible

You are SPOT ON. We have an island here in Washington State called McNeil Island, it was a prison that was shut down a few years ago. I've been trying to get some traction on the idea that we need to stick a huge pile of crack on one area, another of meth somewhere else, and heroin on the other part. Ship everyone living on the streets there, and let them know they'll never come back, but they'll have all the drugs they will ever want. Food, drugs, and supplies will be air dropped. No one leaves unless they're dead. Period. Problem solved. I'm 16 years into recovery, and I did it cold turkey, then went to AA. Rehab is the biggest rip off I've ever seen. "Relapse is a part of recovery". GTFOH with that crap, no it ISN'T. The stupid politicians where I live have decided to build a bunch of apartment complexes, compliments of the taxpayers, and give them to chronically homeless drug addicts FOR FREE, with a nurse available 24 hours a day, to narcan them back to life. They provide free needles, tourniquets, crack pipes, meth pipes, kits, EVERYTHING. Oh, and drugs aren't illegal anymore either. The city of Seattle also got the State to force all the surrounding cities in it's footprint to take in their street people FOR FREE. They just bought 2 hotels in my city,. Guess what? We've got over 600 kids enrolled in our schools who are either homeless or sleeping on couches, but we're being required by law to IMPORT 180 MEN from the streets of Seattle to live in those hotels for free. One is right next to an elementary school. Will their drug use be monitored? No. Will they be required to stop using drugs? No. But they'll have a nurse to stick narcan in them when they OD, because that's good, right? Our society has gone completely insane. We're actually giving homeless drug addicted criminals FREE HOUSING and reviving them so they can keep wreaking havoc on us. This is Hell on Earth.

Wow no wonder why you’re in that business no more you think so lowly about addicts it’s disgusting there are lots of positive outcomes that happen just because you can’t see the good and everyone of them is worth saving you’re right about one thing though we do need to legalize all drugs and make them available at the pharmacy to addicts Treating this as a medical disorder

I've seen people kick opioid addiction on their own. But it's true that some addicts don't want to recover.

I left Florida in 2013 because of this. it was scary. I went there for treatment and ended up almost loosing my life because of people that specifically look for out of town drug addicts fresh from rehab.

7:37 this is a HUGELY eye opening and much needed video. This could truly save lives and I’m sure it has. With that being said, you shouldn’t have named the school that the young woman is attending. Her safety could possibly be jeopardized by her past captures seeing this.

That's the problem with our current insurance system - they mandate insurance companies to cover this and cover that with no real thought into the unintended consequences. My mother is 78 years old and she has 20-30 prescription medications that she has been on and off. I don't know if they make her better or worse. We all know about how auto repair shops doing unnecessary work just to get more out of the insurance companies. Think about of a person getting sick instead of a car being in an accident.

This is what a private health care system results in!! Serves the private insurance companies right!! A,m I supposed to feel sorry for the poor insurance companies?? When you don't make it a human right to have good health coverage, when you have a FOR-PROFIT system, that's exactly what's going to happen -- FOR PROFIT for anyone who can figure out a way to do it.
@southernmediator89196 жыл бұрын
LOL you called it a 'private healthcare system'. we do not have a 'private healthcare system' ---at all. If you watch the video you will see this problem happened because the 'affordable health care act' that mandates 'private' insurance companies to pay for 'rehab', of drug addiction which... is not a disease, that has any proven treatment---made a free for all, for anybody to say, we 'treat' addicts, and charge your private company as long as you stay sick. This is the worst marriage of 'private' enhanced 'social' healthcare imaginable. And don't think they didn't know what would happen when they signed this turd of a law. It worked for everybody but the working tax payer. If you disagree, wake the up.

The US doesn't have a private healthcare. It was only ACA that let it be more profitable. Nevertheless, Human trafficking is going to happen regardless of Healthcare.

southern mediator In Canada our healthcare is covered without the need of insurance companies. You go to the hospital, the government foots the bill. It’s a single payer system, and therefore it’s hard to exploit. Hospitals are publicly funded, therefore they don’t charge $20 for a single halls drop. Without private hospitals or private insurance, there’s no money to be made off people’s health issues.

My brother in law has been talking about this for years. He prefers to be homeless in Delray Beach, than be a part of this system.
