This was aboslutetly great, I love that idea, we were all in our independent circles, people in their major fields specializing and getting really good at that. Now AI allows for these circles to grow and overlap and really connect everyone and everything further together,.

I think comparing AI art to other major revolutions in technology affecting art like the invention of the camera or digital art is completely fair and we can learn a lot how to handle AI with that in mind. However AI art is definitely not exactly the same as these previous revolutions since its very fundament is the unconsential and uncompensated exploitation of human artists whose entire existence as artists is now endangered by the very technology that stole their artworks. The real problem is not the innovation or the new technology (that unfortunately naturally replaces jobs) but the fact that it's owned and under control by big companies that are solely profit oriented, not interested in art or culture and don't care about ethics or the huge damages they cause.

Hey @msm_12, Thanks for sharing your thoughts-you're hitting on some crucial issues around AI art. The big deal here is those profit-focused companies that aren't too concerned with ethics. You’ve nailed it. I’m curious, what’s your take on platforms like Adobe Firefly or Tess.design (tess.design)? Tess is doing something interesting-they're training AI models with consent from artists and paying them whenever their style is used for creations. Kind of a different approach, right? By the way, we’re kicking off a new space at artanddesign.tv/community where we can talk about stuff like this and more. Would be cool to have you there sharing your insights! Hope to see you around!

Agree with you - at first I was also taken back with Ai…I know for a fact that the job I did Ai will do it if programmers develop it properly better or worse who knows but I’m out of job now , but as for art it’s another tool like Pinterest got an idea want to save time stick it in Ai generate a picture then take it as a reference go do the normal way set a model and draw her or him because that’s what Ai will never generate as actual as an artist with feelings - yah it will give you something similar ….Ai is here not going away or taken down so embrace it as a tool !!!! yes yes there will be many who will be up in arms down with blah blah blah….but its better then sticking a pile of mud on floor or an empty space and calling it ART….think about it. So have fun 😊

Hey @jivka6518, Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's definitely a time of big change with AI stepping into so many fields. I heard someone say that "AI won't replace humans, but humans using AI will replace humans who don't" Using AI to spark ideas and save time is a smart move, especially if it frees you up to add that personal touch that only human artists can bring. Your perspective is refreshing, and I agree-embracing AI as a tool can open up new possibilities without taking away from the heart of artistic expression. Looking forward to more of your insights in our new community at artanddesign.tv/community - It’s going to be a great place for us to share ideas. Hope to see you there!

I feel you are forgetting some crucial details regarding the anology between traditional vs digital and art vs AI and that to me says a bit about how you are approaching this topic and where you stand which I dont like. I personally am not against the AI, I think it is great fun and can inspire artists that dont use AI to do better. However, much like the Traditional vs Digital debate there are a bunch of factors both parties agree on that favour against digital. Such as becoming more lazy, or the art is less meaningful, or the traditional practice forces the artist to become better faster, etc. The same exact points count for Art vs AI art. Real art, digital or not has more intention behind their image, while AI art does not. When this intention is lost, the image so far then only chooses to be amazing through fidelity or familiarity. Now for the user, the user of AI art creates a gamble and some AI artists that ive seen has spent 16 hours trying to get something just right, while a real artist would get that "just right" aspect in much, much less time. Meaning, when the AI artist is finally being specific and picky, the process of finally creating something that you want becomes a lot more difficult. And that is because the AI cannot do what you want it to do. Just like in Coding. Even in Coding, the AI will hallucinate, eventually you will have a bunch of strings that do nothing even if the entire string works to make what you want. Same applies in images, the AI images has a lot of detail in places that does not need detail. Its one of KEY ways to spot AI art is to look for detail where none is required. And quite frankly, at least for AI images, ive been so good at spotting AI art that I recognize AI so fast. I hate it. I want to be bewildered and amazed, but I am not. I guess I have an eye for Art but the only reason why I dont like AI art is this feeling of being amazed, is not that amazing with AI art. Just a very nice sketch of a curvy lady knows how to potentially turn me on, yet when I see AI do it, sketched or not. It is absolutely not the same. Something always feels wrong in one way or another. Its a tool, yes. But an illusion. You dont control this tool, it controls you.

Hey @Craft2299, Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It’s clear you’ve given a lot of consideration to the nuances between traditional, digital, and AI art. I totally get where you're coming from. I agree that it lacks the intention and meaning of real art. But... does the meaning not come from the human? "when the AI artist is finally being specific and picky, the process of finally creating something that you want becomes a lot more difficult." - And frustrating, I would also add... Because the artistic decisions don't come from the artist. It comes from the artist description of what he wants. Meaning that the linguistic description needs to be so precise that there is no room for error. "...KEY ways to spot AI art is to look for detail where none is required." - Agreed. It has a tendency to put too much detail into the images. I think this will change overtime though, as the models become more better at capturing user intent. "Its a tool, yes. But an illusion. You dont control this tool, it controls you." - There's definitely this real sense that it's doing the creative heavy lifting for you. It's like having someone else paint your masterpiece. Big companies do this with human teams all the time, hiring top talent to create under their brand name. People applaud the brand, like Disney, but it’s really about the talented teams behind the scenes. With AI, it's like having a team of robots doing the work instead. I wonder, maybe we haven’t quite seen the right implementation of this technology that truly serves artists. Seems like a big opportunity for the right person with the right idea. P.s. We’re building a community over at [artanddesign.tv/community](artanddesign.tv/community) where discussions like these are at the forefront, and your perspectives would make a great addition to the mix. It’s a new space, but with the awesome people from our KZbin channel joining every day, it's going to evolve into something really special. Hope to see you there to keep the conversation going!

It all very exciting personally to use AI as a tool for art or any other day to day task, anything that helps our life’s to be more enjoyable is a good thing. Just conscious of how this will evolve in a work space, how corporates will see this as a way of saving cost and cutting jobs because AI can do quicker and cheaper. Here hoping for the best and I am want to learn more about AI to help me in the future

Hey @Rubbe87, I hear you. It can be tough out there for artists. That's why we're starting this new community at artanddesign.tv/community - It's a place where we can all connect, share our work, and maybe even find some new opportunities. Who knows, it might just be the spot where things start looking up!
