It sounds like an expensive experiment. I used to work in a secure facility where robots were tried out to transport things. First ones tried didn't work well, especially when two going opposite directions bumped into each other. They'd back up, run forward into each other, again and again. Others were tried, in the end ideas were scrapped, nothing but an expensive memory. This plan may work, but seems it would be beneficial to be able to control and see visually through them to disarm armed intruders. Just having them point a light won't do much, especially now that you've let everyone, including future intruders, know the limitations.

@@j.d.4697 - You can have that opinion if you want, but I still think it could work if it does more than just shine a light. Like I said, if it could be used to see visually through and had the ability to disarm an armed intruder it could be beneficial.

So the "security staff" will probably be a guy watching a monitor who would end up calling the police. Time delay will be large and staff will be cut to be able to pay for the robots. End result will be no immediate intervention! So will the robot get hysterical and go around flailing it’s arms yelling out, “Danger! Danger! Will Robinson”.

Why have a driving camera when there are already plenty of stationary? ..... the robot gets a laser pointer to confuse a potential shooter? Are we talking about armed cats?

1. Cameras cannot provide security, they just potentially provide identification of the perpetrator. Shining lights isn't going to deter anything. 2. So the high school needs to review 7x27x365 video across 7 cameras. If you have to review that much footage, it's going to require many people, or subject to all of the failings of "AI" in these contexts.

Seems dumb. The robot isn't solving a problem that more cameras doesn't solve... the only thing it might be able to do better is night survalance if it's ai can activate lights that motion detectors miss but otherise same thing, just get more motion sensors and lights.
