The brake system should be reversed i.e By default spring should push to apply the brake, the system should be pressurised to counter this spring so that the vehicle can move. Upon pressing of brake pedal, the system should release pressure thereby applying brakes. Thus in an event of air leak, the vehicle will stop rather than going out of control.
@paritoshdixit26474 ай бұрын
This is indeed integrated in the Rolling Stock braking system
@etukmonday644 ай бұрын
Works best in systems where their brakes are used sparingly. For a system that the brakes are often engaged, there is a high chance of the system failing while the vehicle is in motion, and if it happens on the speed lane, not much can be imagined. Better have a break that fails while you suddenly need it, than have one fail when you don't need it. Vehicle with variable valve timing sometimes comes with a valve that was stuck in the position of its last use.

service brake uses air to apply brakes, parking brake uses air to release brakes. Spring brakes for service brakes would probably have more delay and not as fine control. Atleast in Europe we use EBS systems which have modulators near the wheels electronically controlling the pressure for even less delay and better abs functionality, with pneumatic control for failsafe. And if you have a massive leak, you will run out of air and your parking brake will engage.
@ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣΠΕΦΑΝΗΣ4 күн бұрын
you are absolutely right about this . for safety reason when we have air leakage the vehicle will must stop ! [ stucks the brakes'] so the description about this video presentation for my opinion is little bit ''technical confused ''!

Yeah the compressor is mounted in a way to be geared from the timing gears not from a fan belt, plus the brake pot showen in this video is of a service brake only and not of a spring/service brake pot, where compressed air is applied to release the brakes as well as compressed air is applied to actuate the slack adjustor to apply braking force.

I am new to learning CDL truck driving and mechanics. This is overall a great visual and explanation. I can see that Amrie Muchta provides other mechanical and machinery videos. It seems he is providing the world with "calm" video graphics that illustrate how each kind of machinery works so viewers have a way to learn online easily about something that would be very complicated, would take a lot of time (and money) for another person to teach to me 1-on-1, and has translated it to English so more people in the Western "Civilization" (aka the Concrete Jungle) can understand. Thanks! Amrie Muchta! This helps me learn something I would not have access to without your help. Don't worry about the AI English translation. U.S. citizens need to realize their language is not the Basis of Languages. We are very spoiled and ignorant in that way. Great video! I subscribed.

It's a shame that such good animation and explanation would have such atrocious grammar to overshadow it. Get an english speaking person to script it for the narration. It sounds like you just ran it through a crappy translation from whatever language you wrote it in

So, if air brake system high forcely push the pushrod, how then hydraulicking are the system not too strong enough more?

Air is cheaper and readily available. Less maintenance for seals and filters needed in hydraulic systems. Easy to maintain.

Is it really less brake force on hydraulic systems? I heard it was more because if you have a small leak in a hydraulic system you can basically lose your brakes but if you have air brakes, because it uses the air to release the brake instead of to brake on the emergency side, you'll still have brakes in the event of a leak.

No, you got it all wrong. Both hydraulic and pneumatic are equally as strong. Air brakes are more redundant and less prone to contamination.

Most air brake systems I know of have a second diaphragm with a heavy spring that applies the brake if the air pressure is lost or needs air pressure to release the brake ( used for parking by dumping the air )

This is wrong, the brakes are naturally set to activate and the airlines constantly keep the cam pressurized so they deactivate, pressing on the brake pedal closes the said lines which reactivates the brake. This is done so that in an event of an air leak, or if you lose air, they will automatically brake. Making it a dead man switch in the absence of air
