I love Simon Sinek so much since I met him through TED. I am Korean... so, even though I have never met him in person, I have always been admiring him and always appreciated. I started to see him to study English and the way he sees the world and now it's time for me to learn how he influences his world and will do for my people in Korea. Thank you.

Cannot express enough how deeply I appreciate listening to Simon Sinek and Brian Chesky's words of wisdom. As an ex-airbnb employee, I consider Airfam are mainly lucky because they get a unique chance to listen to Brian in his Q&A and World@, a privilege that very few people get to experience.

Honestly, Simon, I really love all of your ideas and books, but Airbnb is a complete garbage company. Perhaps they take care of their employees-though from what I’ve heard. However, they truly treat their customers in the worst way. As long as you don’t have any issue with your listing, Airbnb is functional. However, as soon as there’s an issue, they give you the runaround (I spoke with no fewer than 8 representatives), renege on their promises, fail to return calls. Here’s what the company needs to do: focus on the people, their employees, hosts, and customers. Not the shareholders. I’ve spoken to too many representatives and agents in order for this to be an isolated incident or just a bad apple. There is a rot in that company that has infested the way they do business. Buyer beware. I hope, for their sake, you can get in there and truly turn them around.

It’s a shame Air BnB could pivot at the cost of the customer. we booked to go back to Australia from Sri Lanka. I work in Sri Lanka and when COVID broke my family and myself couldn’t fly home to see our friends. My kids were very upset as we were in lockdown for 3 plus months. Air BnB decided to keep most of our money from the booking as we didn’t fall into the criteria. No empathy given. I argued and argued and they gave some money back but kept a substantial portion of the payment that we never used. they wouldn’t even offer a credit. So no service given yet around 50% cancellation kept and me in the tourism industry with a 305 reduction in salary. Perhaps they need to look at this aspect of their business before pivoting. Not really a great company 🙏
@koutanot4 жыл бұрын
And Airbnb is doing well from the pivot ? One can always sell fish instead of sushi but did it lead to measurable outcomes? Less hyperbole more examples please. Stop prattling with ur philosophies unless the outcome proved it worked

GIven the fact that just within July they have a future booking of over 1M+ I would say the pivot and learning to survive has done well also yes not many people wanna say the 25% of layoffs with the 2B in debt funding round has help the company to stay strong.

My wife and I have been to a few AirBnB "domiciles" and each one was bad for unique reasons, one being black mold in the bathroom and master bedroom and at another one, the guy lived with us. A better filtering system would be great. Oh, and I would be remiss to include this: AirBnB refunded me a $75 voucher (seriously!) on a future stay when we complained about the black mold. (We left the condo and stayed at the only hotel room left in Ocean City, Maryland that night so they could send in a cleaning crew, but the renter turned around and rented it out, leaving us to stay in the expensive hotel ALL WEEK!) Thanks, again for nothing, AirBnB!

When my friend got a house that was not suitable for living, he contacted the Airbnb staff. She replied to my friend's messages 2 hours before her 2 day holiday. Then she didn’t care at all that my friend had already slept outdoors all night, enjoyed her 2 day holiday without passed my friend case to any colleagues. After 2 days, she completely ignored my friend’s repeated refusal to accept the cancellation terms. Without my friend’s permission, she accepted the cancellation terms for my friend, so that my friend could not get a refund. When Brian Chesky cares about his staff, does he care about his customers?
