Many years ago I came up with the idea to get around the restrictions. I always thought that Alton Towers could secretly begin purchasing every house in Alton and then renting them out. Starting with the houses closest away on Castle Hill Road. That way no permanent resident could file a noise complaint. But, I'm an adult now and realise that I'm an idiot.

Alton Towers genetically modifying Redwoods/Douglas Firs/Mountain Ash trees to grow very quickly to a tall height and then planting a bunch of them. Could you imagine being a NIMBY local and seeing this massive trees growing at Alton Towers and not being able to do anything as its not them building above the treeline.

0:27 in regards to locals, I know someone who works at Merlin magic making and every local likes the theme park and doesn’t mind the noise except this one elderly couple, They are also doing something to try and increase their building heights for rides but I’m not gonna say what it is as I’m not sure if he was allowed to tell me, all I will say is one of your ideas isn’t far off what they are doing

there is a third option: the cross valley coaster. that’s 200ft all by itself, and if you’re willing to dig an extra 50+ feet, and combine that with the tree-line, that should do it. one problem: merlin already have the uk height record with hyperia, a hyper coaster. a good one too, made by mack with those fancy over the shoulder lap bars that are so much more comfortable and even slightly safer.

That's a garden that the resort isn't allowed to build amusement park attractions on. Alos: a giga requires a 300' drop, so just putting a train over a the garden with a 50' hole in it (that they wouldn't even be allowed to dig in that part of the park) wouldn't cut it.

This isn't a giga, but they could have a 100mph+ launch into a 65 foot top hat with no trims, insane airtime, then at the other side of the top hat it could drop down Into a 300ft trench. Then exit the trench and have inversions, airtime hills, intense banked turns and helixes. It would have the drop of a giga but not giga structure height, but it would probably be the most intense ride in Europe if not the world.

Obviously the majority of people disagree with you; guests love the gardens and greenery as well as the rides It's a one of a kind them park and it's considered to be the best in the country and needs no competition. what makes it special is the entire package; the rides, gardens and historical estate. The Smiler is one of if not the best coaster in the U.K. The people who own the lands around it have lots of $ and will make sure the park remains historical and green; they're not interested in the park growing, with the possible exception of one nearby bed & breakfast. Nobody prefers a park made of pavement. IF the U.K ever gets a giga it won't be at Alton Towers I can assure you. But as I said: you're entitled to your dream, so dream on. But just because you prefer coasters to gardens and are too lazy to visit Cedar Point will never make your pipe dream a reality. What are you gonna do about it? Cry?

Intimidator 305 and Fury 325 are my no. 1 and 2. They are, very bloody good lol. So - my idea WAS to plant some non-native absolutely MASSIVE trees as a big f off the the local council / locals. And then just build a Giga for real... then I watched the rest of the vid! HOWEVER : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_trees You will see that a lot of these trees are over 300ft in height just on their own lol. Just need to rob one and shove it in the ground. When you look at the names of these trees, suddenly you see where parks got their coaster name ideas from... Hyperion... ORION... (There is a 'Millenium' tree but I'll discount that due to when MF was built) Great name ideas for this 330+ft Alton Towers Giga. And they have to ensure it has a lift hill so it takes the Fury 325 record I wish this was serious...
