I will never forget the ad that had a guy on the toilet playing spiderman with a wavebird controller. Great vid.

Nintendo has several un-kid friendly ads in magazines. One Gameboy ad showed two big manly hands wrapped around the gameboy in the bottom right half of the ad, all while a women in sleeping shorts and shirt was tied to a bed by her arms and legs. She even had a uneasy look on her face. Like it was against her will! If it was more provocative would be one thing (which might be what they were going for) but thats not how it looked lol. Then the phrase something like "terribly distracting" was across the top talking about Gameboy. THAT would never get printed today! lol. Great topic and it was awesome time to grow up in.

example of really interesting game ads that draw your attention thoroughly Kane and Lynch 2 Mad Dogs has ads which just throw you into the thick of it with mild context daring you to learn more having one the main characters running through public areas with a gun scaring them all while the other MC is taking pills an talking casually to there girlfriend is insane for example

The only game "ads" I see on tv anymore are just 10 second bites of gameplay and maybe some random guy talking. Xbox used to have BOMB ones though. For Gears and Halo.... Gears 2 Last Day and Rendezvous with Death.... The Halo 3 commercials, Halo Reach Live Action commercial... The only recent ad that had any substance was the Starfield one but the game was cheeks.
