Thanks for this. They regularly fly over my house. Someone tipped me off a while back that the best way to ID the new E model in flight is to look for the egg beater at the top of the tail boom behind the engines and it is indeed generally quite easy to spot. 👍

Has the ability to fold the rotors for naval operations been lost with the upgrade? I know the actual blades are new but I can't seem to find any reference to whether that particular capability has been sacrificed.

You can fit your own weapons potentially - but you pay for the entire NRC costs to modify the aircraft (just not cost effective to be the sole operator of a variant). Operating costs per nation are dramatically reduced by total volume of common aircraft across the globe.

the Royal Navy being a pioneer of light STOVL aircraft carriers, should consider operating a dedicated navalized variant of the AH-64E Apache Longbow® multi role attack helicopter . . . it'll complement the carrier borne F-35B Lightning II (Block III) maritime VTOL multi role fighter interceptor . . . configure the AH-64M naval ops specific weapon solutions for e.g. AGM-84E Harpoon (Block IV) active radar homing GPS guided air-to-surface anti-ship missile & Storm Shadow 2 active radar homing inertial guided land attack cruise missile . . . under nose mounted 30 MM GAU-8/B three-barrel rotary cannon . . . not to mention the staple AGM-114 Hellfire anti armour missiles . . .

WTF are you on? "Navalized variant"? Perhaps in an episode of GI Joe, but not in any reality. I'm guessing you are a 14yo boy who sketches army scenes in his notebooks. Great to have an imagination at that age, but you can't simply create aircraft out of thin air that will do things for which they aren't designed.

Why use the Hellfire when England already have a production line of the vastly superior Brimstone missile how the British want to export and publicise the great Brimstone if their own force goes for other country system, ridicolous, thats the problem with England now a days seems like they want to became more and more dependente on América in weapons unbelievable, in Europe they are 3 to 4 missiles that are amazing why adopt a Hellfire even the new Spike ER II have a 16km range and is 20% cheaper than the Hellfire and is produced in Europe with Rafael the owner of the design

@@B-A-L You got it right its soft power like the Americans like to call and the British are getting more dragged to the web. Look at the past and what American deals did to BE Britain was bankrupcy of industrial military complex capacity or industrial spying. What a mess in Europe never learn from their mistakes are they blind was going on! Even using American parts they block any tender for FMS that are running agaisnt their own companies, Rolls Royce was almost destroyed, BAE systems, British Aerospace to, but Europeans projects have save and make giants from this companies, the Americans want is to see Europe week in military industrial complex capacity but their own is not that big, their budget are and they make some stockpiles for a huge arny but its clear that in Europe some key military industrial complex capacity should be nationalized so taxpayer get their money well spend, thats one thing Europe should learn from Rússia, but little countries huge prides almost a toxic mix its sad, not even a TBM tactical ballistic missile Europe have or a supersonic bomber that Europe have the capability to do it easily, they just need a concorde for precise bombing
