one problem with that is that the wars were a trap ... either Jedi stuck to theyr ways and were outsmarted and outmaneuvered then ultimately exterminated by Sidious or they would cross the line and fall ... which would turn most of the Jedi order into Sith and then they would destroy each other while Sidious would wait and then finish whoever was left ... the whole war was created by Siious as absolute trap and no-win scenario for the Jedi

And if you cant control your fear or anger, as a force user you become easily corruptible by the Dark side.

To me it is canon....just for the fact that general grievous still has the cough, in the live film, that Mace windoo caused. And the fact that the very last cartoon transitions directly into the movie of episode 3. They made those cartoon shorts.for the specific reason of episode 3 releasing.. yes they can retcon a few deaths that took place later on...but, everything else should be canon. Even palpatine being kidnapped is from the shorts .. Not sure if the clone wars.series did it's own kidnapping episode. I'm hoping the new clone wars series will transition some, if not a of the shorts into the clone wars.series.

But why should he "return to canon"? The original Expanded Universe was de-canonised in the name of creative freedom after Lucasfilm's acquisition by Disney. Bringing back any character from the Legends continuity would contradict Lucasfilm's statements. But you shouldn't really care about what is declared canon and what isn't. If you like Legends content and characters like Durge, you shouldn't be bummed by the fact that aspects of Legends are not in the new canon.

My favorite Star Wars Character. Thanks for the video. With a skill of sensing heartbeats, perceiving moving Jedi in Slow-Motion, combined with his armor and mandalorian training he will always be the greatest among the Jedi Killers for me. I wish he had survived far into the Galactic Civil War.. He lived through the rise and fall of Sith Empires, learned about then, about the Jedi.. I was never a huge fan of Durge probably because I felt he was overrated. Cad Bane was a much better enemy of the Jedi and gave Obi-Wan and Anakin a run for their Republic credits. Bane had character and was a very interesting, intelligent, and classic villain. To me, Durge was two-dimensional. That's just my opinion, thought. Great video!

There should have been more moments like this for Anakin both in the films and in any of the TV shows, watching him almost singlehandedly defeat the most powerful sentient being in the galaxy who had long been such a scourge for the Republic is what really drives home his status as a fallen hero

I first saw the character Durge on the Cartoon Network's cartoon series the Clone Wars. It was the series that aired before the Prequel Revenge of the Sith movie. Short 5 minute story lines of the Clone Wars; a pretty good thought out cartoon series. One of the episodes showed the battle between Obi Wan and Durge, a great battle scene by the way. The show also gave an explanation on why General Grievous is seen wheezing and coughing in the movie. I don't know if that cartoon series is canon but hey it was great Star Wars' entertainment.

Nope. He never appeared again in that cartoon, but if you look, after Obi-Wan blows him apart, his remains slither away and dramatic music plays.

@@ultramagnus1859 I remember reading somewhere that they originally planned an episode where both Anakin and Obi-Wan would have to face Durge for the second time, but it was changed when George Lucas told Tartakovsky and his crew to use said episode for the official introduction of General Grievous.
