The way i saw it in rebels when ahsoka fought vader, vader was still way more powerful than she is, but he still is anakin deep down, seeing ahsoka, which never wronged him might have weakened him a little bit, at least for a short time. Plus as master and apprentice they probably sparred quite a lot togeter, so even with a huge power gap between the 2 i'd imagine she is one of the most likely jedi to survive againt vader, much like obi wan beat vader every time they fought, even though theoretically vader is way stronger, obi wan knows what he can do, and doesnt underestimate him, vader does underestimate obi wan every time. The best character the clone wars brought us overall, well that anx rex, not sure which of the 2 is my favorite.

Ahsoka was one of the most naturally talented jedi, whom had the most naturally talented jedi, as her master. Someone who was the most powerful jedi AND the most notoriously winning general in the Grand Army of the Republic. By the end of the clone wars it felt like she was better than almost anyone on the council in combat. She captured Maul by herself in single combat. Something nobody was able to do other than palpatine. Just during the clone wars Ahsoka fought Grievous twice, Maul, Asajj, had sparring sessions with Yoda and Anakin, hell she beat up a Trandoshan in hand to hand combat and they are only outmatched in strength by wookies. Then during Rebels, she fought The Inquisitors, Maul, Vader and Palpatine in a single day. One of the most formidable opponents for anyone to face.

Yep, I mean by rebels some would argue that she was given a boost due to the mortis arc where the daughter's essence was used to res her. But the raw skill and talent she held was clear with how she literally danced across the battlefield.

I was just imagining we see *Anakin* having a vague force vision _very_ early on, of *Ahsoka's* Order 66 experience, wherein she is surrounded. Not seeing who surrounds her, he sees her gunned down, or the perhaps the vision shows him what we see: shots coming in from all sides until you can't see *Ahsoka* through the smoke and blaster fire. Thus leaving *Anakin* to fear she dies. This then pushes him to train her as we see in the trailer. I do feel that of all the masters *Ahsoka* could have had, she may have had _the one_ master that focused far more on combat than most. This perhaps more than anything else has prepared her more for all we've seen her survive. 🤷🏼‍♂️

For both good and ill, Ahsoka was surrounded by her Jedi lineage. Her master's master was a constant presence in her life, and his late master was the padawan of their chief enemy, and was originally intended to be the master of her master. The Grand Master of the entire Order had once personally trained her master's master and in turn she was somewhat close with him. The closest thing she had to an arch-rival was in effect her own dark doppleganger, steeped in the opposite traditions but generating from the same handful of people. Her master, once a slave, would never look down upon the Clones, and he transmitted this stance to her. Another lesser mentor was one of a small group of non-corrupt politicians, and Ahsoka likely figured out this woman's secret with her master - and she too could fight. Now, this one is pure speculation, but I maintain that Ahsoka used all this to do one last vitally important thing: When she battled Vader, she lightly brushed the conflict inside his soul. No, it was not and could never be enough to turn him away from the dark side. Only one of his own children, a connection with Padme, could ever hope to do that. But I feel Ahsoka nudged a pinprick hole in Vader's psychic armor, helping pave the way for Luke's later achievement. Not gonna get into the sequels' controversy, but Ahsoka is at least as good a candidate for the family name of Skywalker as anyone.

And let's not forget that Master Plo Koon, Master Terra Senube, Master Kit Fisto, Master Luminara Unduli, and Master Ayla Secura all had hands in mentoring Ahsoka. And these masters were incredibly powerful and knowledgeable Jedi in many fields. All of these mentors that Ahsoka surrounded herself with made her incredibly well rounded in lightsaber combat, tactics, force abilities, politics, and so much more. That's why she is so powerful.

From what we saw in the Tales of the Jedi trailer, it seems Ahsoka’s continued training in Jar’Kai takes place sometime afterwards, this time against blaster-wielding enemies

I was thinking the same thing. Ahsoka has been inhabitted by the living embodiment of both the dark and the light. The dark fueling her rage until the son killed her. Then she was resurrected by the living embodiment of the light. Ahsoka was naturally gifted with the force and then she was amped up to 11.

i dont think the spirit of the daughter works like that as the daughter alone is leagues above any jedi or sith in the galaxy with her only contest being anakin if he reached his full potential the son the father and abaloth plus the daughters spirit is what makes the daughter the daughter so if it did work like that ahsoka would be even more powerful then sidious i think what happened was the daughter used the last of her strength to free ahsoka of the darkness that consumed her to revive her as the daughter was gonna die anyways and the bird that follows ahsoka around recognizes ahsoka as it is the last part of the daughter in the physical plain

I don't think that Ahsoka is more powerful than Anikan or Sidous but she has an insight into the living force that neither of them have. Ahsoka is neither Jedi or Sith because she is more of a monk that is following the will of the living force. She had the living embodiment of the darkside in her head she understands it better than the sith and the same with the light. Both the dark and light have a will. The Sith try to control the force, the Jedi treat it like a child; Both are wrong.

Ashoka was also very powerful as a young apprentice, she began having force visions during the clones wars and has been seen to pull off some impressive force feats, bolstered by Anakin. She managed to walk away from the Jedi master that suffered the most from attachment, taking all the best Jedi qualities from him, taking the best qualities from Obi Wan, becoming a better Jedi than either of them. She saw no limit to the force and she did her best to follow the will of the force as much as possible. Although young and brash with a lot to learn during the clone wars, she grew wise beyond her years once order 66 came along. I’m getting into the clone wars a bit late but she’s becoming one of my favourite Jedi simply because what she made herself become.

It's so good, the series shows that not only did Anakin have her train countless times with the troopers, but it also shows that she continued the training regiments up until the day of Order 66, which allowed her to perfect the techniques needed to survive.

When you think about it, it makes sense that Anakin was such a harsh teacher at first. The guy is a prodigy, joined much later than most jedi-to-be and yet got ranks much faster. He probably felt like she wasn't even trying, because it came so naturally to him and that's why he kept pushing. I mean, how old was he? 18, 19? He had the skills but not the maturity and experience (at first).

Anakin would have been proud. However Vader was sadden when he pick up Ahoska light saber at the end of clone wars and believes she failed to escape. Till rebels finding out she survived and dual her, he came back to the light but retreated back to the dark side. Like Luke said "the Emperor hasn't driven you fully into the dark side, come back to the light there's still good in you. "

There is also the fact that Ahsoka sparred with Anakin repeatedly. Same as Obi-wan. So while yeah, there are multiple different lightsaber forms you need to know.... knowing your opponent is also super helpful. Now in fairness, that goes both ways, but it certainly means you won't get chopped down instantly. Just look at Obi-wan series for an example (the training session and then again in the duel). That's not something some random Jedi Master would have necessarily known. It is also likely a reason why Dooku was able to hold his own against Yoda. They had probably sparred repeatedly as master/apprentice.

Ahsoka was very strong in the force and then she was trained by the greatest sabermaster in the order. Ahsoka was also touched by both the living embodiment of the dark and the light. The dark possessing and killing her then the light sacrificing itself to resurrect her. Ahsoka is more in touch with the living force than any Jedi of the era after Anikan lost his gift of foresight.

vader knew that anakin gave her all the tools she needed to defeat him (vader).. even when he engages her iv always thought that deep down, a part of him expected her to at the very least survive him. he also engages her as a last resort...he literally dis engages his lightsaber as soon as she confronts him! which tells be that at the most subconscious level, vader or not his instincts were always against having to engage her. he (in vaders own way) almost pleads with her to tell him we're the jedi are and surrender so the emperor shows her mercy. I truly believe besides anakin, ashoka Is one of the only ppl vader does NOT want to fight if he doesn't have to. he knows (subconsciously) that if he has to fight her, he is gonna need to follow through (which isn't something he particularly desires) evil darksider or not! there are so many conflicting emotions with obiwan where vader truly did and didn't wanna kill him (the person u love the most can also be the person u have the most hatred for), it's never been like that with ashoka..i mean the literally last memory he has of her is gifting her those blue lightsabers, that love dosent completely disappear! even when he does engage her, he had to use the feeling of betrayal he felt when she left the order to even begin engagement.

I feel like most of her success with facing vader was partly due to knowing his so well, that even tho his style and attitude were SO different, she was still able to figure him out, but also that she just flat out did NOT fear him(at all?)! He was an evil monster, but he was still her beloved master/brother, so maybe she would have eventually grown to fear him if she had reoccurring run ins with him, she wouldn’t fear him at all to begin with, she would feel sorrow and empathy, and guilt, and LOVE! But no fear, as to her, he was still Anakin. Of course those wouldn’t matter without her training, as u pointed out, but I think that while fighting vader, those 2 things were MORE important(on top of her skill/training), cause as u also pointed out, so many jedi he killed had far more training and potential skill than she did.

I could be misremembering this but isn't it a species trait of the Togruta that they have increased spatial awareness? I get that the body still needs to be able to make use of it and the training would help. But being surrounded on all sides like that would be easier as a Togruta than most species in Star Wars.

Training is everything. If the student takes all aspects of this to heart and the teacher sees the good and bad, he shows this to the student. The student is the one that has to listen, learn, and advance. And when this is done the student must learn more. Skill, survival, technique, battle awareness all are a part of the picture. This is how Special Forces are able to overwhelm, out think, and continue to keep going.

Actually it's also Clear Ahsoka knows the lightsaber form that Vader mainly utilizes. In the mortis arc when Ahsoka's corrupted by the son, she uses the exact same form. However she generally used it in conjunction with leaps to put her full bodyweight into each blow. Sure Anakin clearly didn't want to fight her, but he was trying to defend from her then. Meaning she was considerably strong even then, knowing the main style Vader's is based on likely also helped with her confrontation later on.

I am not denying Anakin's part in her survival. However, I am going to suggest that there are other factors involved. For example, Ahsoka had prior experience evading the clones thanks to her friend Barris. As for grievous, she's had many more encounters with the mechanical monstrosity than any 14 year old should ever have. Which is probably why she took the lessons on compromising for disadvantages in battle so seriously. Let's not forget the fact that she already fought a dark side user prior Vader.

Ahsoka is awesome.. Its not necessarily her feats that impress me though, it has always been her mistakes, failures and her ability to walk through them afterward and succeed where she previously couldn't. She is the iconic Hero Story which I have been missing for how many years of characters that are unbeatable with no challenge and barely a scratch on them or a mistake made. While it may be thanks to Anakin, it is the drive and spirit of Ahsoka that kept her in the game willing to go through the necessary steps to be who she is. Thinking about every cherished memory with Anakin though and then seeing his face through the mask.. Holy shit that hits harder after watching the video and seeing some of the tales of the jedi clips.

He had already travelled that path and learned that humility and understanding one's own limits were the makings of a GREAT warrior and so he passed that on to her. She had plenty of time to sharpen her skills being raised during the clone wars unlike most jedi who had been raised in times of peace without any serious threats to their lives day to day. Ahsoka didn’t survive her battle with Darth Vader. She gave up her life so Ezra could escape. He then used Dark Side techniques to travel through time and pulled her from the battle before Vader could strike the final blow.

It’s rather incredible to know that the jedi’s greatest warrior during the clone wars was also an excellent trainer in the process. I think some semblance of anakin Skywalker inside Darth Vader felt very proud to see how far his former apprentice had come in her training and how she had become a Jedi as powerful and patient as the same two Jedi who discovered and trained him in both Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-wan Kenobi.

Ahsoka was raised as a Jedi during war. She faced many enemies that older Jedis didn’t. Thats why she was a stronger padawan than the average Jesi knight.

this video omits everything of importance. 1.all padawans are smaller than their masters, therefore all padawans have to deal with larger opponents, more over, Ashoka was trained by Yoda, so. Additionally, having had a thousand sparring sessions with Anakin, she specifically knows how to beat him, the way Obivan does. finally, Ashoka uses two swords. all of this pinpoints, why she survived her duel with Grievous, as well as with Darht Vader. Perhaps, there was some additional training from Anakin, but we don't have that information. 2. surviving order 66 is obviously also due to wielding two lightsabers, which make 360° defence possible, but also due to being small and therefore an inconvenient target. Thirdly, Ashoka has been one of the first victims of clones, as she had to fight her way through clones long before order 66 between her incarceration and subsequent trial. Ashoka HAD experience of beeing targeted by clones. however, there is of course another factor, albeit the smallest of all, of Anakin's educational contribution, namely, that he used to employ extremely dangerous tactics, which always put Ashoka at a numerical disadvantage. therefore, yes , due to being a bad general Anakin did train Ashoka by putting her in life threatening situations, however, this factor is the least important of all.

I like to think that on some deep inner level both the clones and Darth Vader rebelled against killing Ahsoka, thus they hesitated during combat against her. Very few others would've had this advantage and the skill necessary to capitalize upon it.

Let’s not forget about the training with Bo Katan that obviously had to of happened while running with the Mandolorian clan . I’d like to think Ahsoka had to earn her way as ally of this mandolorian faction and was willing to give and receive knowledge of battle in order to be able to become one of the the most successful duelists of all force wielders.

This scene is not the beginning of their good relationship as the outfit is a mix between the first 2 seasons and season 3, they had already bonded by then. However that doesn't mean anakin was going to be soft on ahsoka, he wanted her to be the best and for that she needed to train hard, and it payed off in the end, as she was almost at jedi Knight level being a teenager during the later seasons thanks to anakin's training and being trained during a war too. Thanks to that she was able to face off enemies like grievous, ventress and maul, and later on Darth Vader, because their bond didn't matter when it was time to train hard, like i said, making her a padawan that was on jedi Knight level almost for most of the show just like anakin was on jedi knight level very early during his training, although in his case it's because he was gifted in the force, while ahsoka's situation is thanks to his training aside the fact that she's also very gifted in the force. If she stayed in the order and no order 66 happened anakin would've been the youngest or one of the youngest jedi masters ever and ahsoka would've been one of the youngest jedi knights, that's how good she was in the force and how good her training was

I love her character, and do love Rebels as well, but some side of me still thinks its was just pure plot armor thingies when it came the moment of her nearly killing Vader, but after seeing this video, a lot of explained here. I just wish theese topics were explained way further inside Star Wars, some sort of episodes in shows or even a short movie. Thanks Wave as allways for enlightening us.

in The Jedi Path book one of Ahsoka's annotations involves her complaining about Anakin criticizing her reverse grip and was something she had/did before ever becoming Anakin's padawan, so you can't really subscribe that part of her fighting style to him
