I have never heard of Glue and Sealant Remover. Thanks for sharing. -- I have a 'mess' the previous owner made. This product will help me out. -- The bike has a set of tires/wheels, that the previous owner, set up tubeless but they simply leak air no matter what I try. -- I intend on converting them back to tubes and use them for commuting. This product looks like it will clean the wheels and tires so I can install new tubes in a clean tire/wheel. No nasty/sticky leftovers.

I just continue to add sealant to the old dried stuff and add more pieces of tape over any sections that don't look good. This seems like the smarter way to do it.

Really helpful. I've just gone tubeless on some 'tubeless ready' Racing Ralphs. They were so floppy on the rim it was impossible using a track pump and I had to buy a new pump, use a couple of extra wraps of duct tape over the top of my Muc-Off tape. And they seeped sealant from the side walls, so not convinced of the tubeless ready claims. However, I've left them 24 hours and they seem to be staying up now. I hope the effort is worth it.
@rupedog4 жыл бұрын
I just scoop out the old sealant from tyre I'm taking off, pour into tyre going on, top up a little (10-20ml) as necessary, wipe clean inside old tyre with a rag. Simples! But thats because I use Slime STR premium tubeless sealant... doesn't dry out between twice yearly seasonal tyre swap, so unlike all the latex with ammonia based ones, zero maintenance! And co2 safe!

The muc off and other valves come with a few different seals, which one should you use, when and why?
@RocketMagnetUK4 жыл бұрын
Depends on your rim profile and the best fit with the valve seal, so take a look at your wheel and/or check out the original valve seal shapes if it came with them. A small patch of innertube with a small hole pushed over the valve before you put it in the wheel can get you by sometimes and make up for a poor seal but this is bodging it. At the end of the day a selection of valves with different profiles is always handy to have IMO.

Riding today I lost a load of tire pressure, I thought it was just a big burp (was hero dirt, much more traction and schralps than usual in dry old western aus). Chucked some air in, kept riding, got home and washed bike to find air leaking out between the rim and the tire. There is slight damage to the tire on the sidewall there, none on the rim. Any idea what could have happened before I pull it appart?
@nikounourbakhsh84332 жыл бұрын
My best guess is it was an old tire on top of a big burp cus the bead likes to get wear when the tire gets old and a big burp could pull it off some of the tire. I am just realizing this is two years late lmao.

@niklasdr4 жыл бұрын
KENNY MTB I just put the wheel to my chest and see to that I stretch the tire bead inside that trough in the rim bed. Another way is to use their tip to stand the wheel on the floor and push a soft hammer handle down on the rim with your foot to be able to pull and keep the tire stretched inside the rim trough/bed. And of course where the valve is will always be the last part to put the tire on or off as it would otherwise keep the tire to be able to sit in the rim trough/bed there. Good luck!

I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".

@spfttt4 жыл бұрын
The answer to this question is: NEVER. Because, you want to never put it in in the first place. Sealants like Slime etc. were NOT intended to be used as preventatives. They were designed to be used only AFTER you get a flat, as a way to get going again quickly. If you just dump Slime in your tires, it will eventually get into the air valve. When you add air to your tire and open the valve, if some slime gets in there as a bit of air escapes, it will dry in there, and prevent the valve core from closing completely. You will have a slow leak. Very few people suspect a leaking valve core and will be puzzled for quite some time, looking for a leak.
@tychoMX4 жыл бұрын
Respectfully disagree. Even Slime does - which is why they sell you Slime inner tubes preloaded with the sealant inside.
