How and When to use Tramadol? (Tramal, Tramagetic, Ultram) -For Patients-

This is an informational overview video on Tramadol. Tramadol is a painkiller from the group weak opioids, like oxycodon. And it has a similar mechanism of action as Morphine.
Common brand names are Tramal, Tramagetic and Ultram.
In this video I will explain when to use Tramadol, how to use Tramadol, what dosage to use of Tramadol, what are the side effects of Tramadol, and is Tramadol safe to use when pregnant or while breastfeeding.
In addition I will also explain if Tramadol is safe to use while driving, and if Tramadol is safe to use with alcohol.

On top of pregabalin and amitriptyline, I take Tramadol to deal with chronic brain damage related headaches. I have been given Naproxen by another GP, as I am trying to avoid constantly taking opioids. My headaches are pretty much constant, in varying degrees. I avoid taking anything other than the first mentioned medications, until the pain is an 8 out of 10, but this is most days.

I take tramadol 100mg twice a day. If I don’t take it my back pain would be really bad. I have several bulging discs and stenosis of my spine. I’m only 46 years old and I can’t imagine me walking with a cane or anything else to be okay. I take breaks from it every three months. Then I start again after 3 months again and take a month off.

I take 50mg occasionally for a mood boost. Just a few times a year. Really bring my spirits up and gives me energy. I’d like to take it more often, maybe once a week. What are your thoughts? It’s only 50mg. Thanks

Hi Kyle, It is not recommend to use Tramadol without a proper indication or a prescription from your doctor. It is serious drug, which can be addictive and cause side-effects.

I had 2 knee replacements and have lower back pain. My doctor prescribes me 40 pills of tramadol at a time and I make them last 2 months. Is that enough time gap between refills to prevent from getting addicted to the med?

Everyone has body chemistry that's different. I have hip and back pain. For me tramadol is like water It doesn't do a thing. Nothing. This country has gone from perhaps to many prescriptions to nearly.none. suffering is off the charts. To me , that should be a crime. You ask your dr. To address your pain and he tells you take an ibuprofen . It's simply unexceptable. No wonder people try to buy off the streets. Pain makes people desperate. It is not the human condition to suffer with pain and do nothing.

I take it with out a doctor advice a friend gave to me i needed to stay active due to work pressue i work 2 jobs but i cant break it influence and cant get sleep and when i do i sleep for 12 hrs , how that would effect my health on long term ? I also take with no prescription because of pain. It’s hard for someone my age to get pain meds. I usually only take 1 per day and my pain gets really bad at night. I also take over the counter Advil or naprosin. The person I get the drug from takes 6-8 a day. I’ve never had side effects but it can keep you awake at night. I don’t recommend taking at night unless you have to. The person that takes 6-8 per day has no side effects but very bad rheumatoid arthritis in their hands and back pain. We both been taking over 15 years.

Great video. I tore my abdominal muscle and was proscribed Tramadol + 800mg Ibuprofen. When I got home I took the Tramadol and immediately had a MAJOR reaction to it: I began shaking, sweating and then passed out. When I came to ( on the floor ), waves of nausea swept over me. I remained on the floor for about an hour and eventually the nausea passed and I got up. Wondering if others have had such reactions as mine. Again, great video.

Tramadol by Sandoz I don't recommend at all. What Sandoz did isn't a real Tramadol. It works extremely slow & it is more like Effexor. The pure Tramadol works faster even taking half tablet. Many other like Mar did the same it takes extremely long to start working & it doesn't work like the old Tramadol before they started tampering with the molecule.
