Not GPS. Just to correct the correspondent here. The issue of tracking phones and not pagers is nothing to do with GPS. Mobile phones can transmit and therefore their location can be determined by listening to those transmissions. Pagers are receive only devices. They just receive signals from the pager base stations but never transmit any signals at all so there is nothing to listen to which could locate them. The lack of transmissions is why they are preferred in some areas in hospitals because they won't interfere with sensitive medical equipment. This also makes pagers small, cheap and with a very long battery life. I used to have one and the two AAA batteries would last for months.
