You're just the best! It never ceases to amaze me how you are able to simplify your tutorials and assume that people don't know the basics, and explain it so everything makes sense. As someone that is 100% self-taught, many how-to videos assume I know things I might not know. Even if I do know it, you give a clear description as to why I might need it. Thanks again!

The thing is that everytime I export I've got washed out colors, and everything seems pretty dull. Any fix on that? The only way I've got the TRUE colors is by exporting in "save for web" option, tho I can't export many files at once. Any clue?

It sounds like your document might be set to CMYK (try RGB) - File > Document Color Mode > RGB

I watched the whole video, but I still don’t know what’s the purpose of save for screen. Sorry. In which cases should I use this over safe for web, if I’m just trying to upload clear photos to social media? Also, What way of saving would be better for uploading photos to my Wix website? Thanks! Is save for screens more for when you’re going to be sharing the file directly? Also, do you recommend saving for screens, if I plan to use the art in an After Effects composition? Thanks!
@GDHT3 жыл бұрын
Export for screens is perfect for screens only (not printing), so anything that's viewed on the web, social media, websites, etc. It's a good way to get all the file types you or a client might need quickly.

Hi! This is really helpful :) But what about exporting artboards or posts for Facebook (and other social media sites) without reducing the quality of the post? Thanks!

Sometimes FB adds compression, so it makes things blurry. But usually, designers only see blue when they zoom in past 100% view.

Seems like custom Export for Screens settings(scales with prefixes) can't be saved at all. Has anyone seen a workaround? AI seems to keep the settings around (even between opening new AI files) but otherwise, scaling options are lost.

Thank you!! I have a question, why are my files 'saved for screen' still showing up vague at FB banner and in Microsoft Signature? I've tried all options and I seriously have no clue anymore.
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
Facebook compresses images, unfortunately. I would try making the file about twice the size they request (in pixels), then exporting. Email signatures are notoriously crazy when it comes to images.

Hi! I'm trying to export an svg from a library item using Export for Screens but every time I open a new item in the Export for Screens window the Export to folder is reset to a weird location in a hidden folder. I think it's because it's a library item, not a regular file. Do you know how to fix that? Thank you!

I have saved a png file with 999px X 1016px with 300PPI in photoshop. When I open the file in Illustrator the size is 242.4px X 294px at 300PPI. Why is that happen? How can I open the png file with the original dimensions at 300PPI in illustrator? Please help me. I need a quick answer.
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure why there's such a large variance with pixels, but when I change the Photoshop and Illustrator files to inches, they are the same. Why do you want to bring it from Photoshop to Illustrator?

Ok I see - dang, I hoped that would solve it. This is actually something I've run into before, but I usually just do InDesign when working with PNG or other raster formats. Here's an article that might be helpful: graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/108545/images-imported-to-adobe-illustrator-get-resized-in-smaller-dimensions-than-orig
@amcheeze67822 жыл бұрын
Heres the thing. I did all of this, but my files are empty, and Illustrator instead goes and makes files named "1x" or "82ppi" as in the scalel. Anything else I try results in Illustrator just doing nothing, as if the program thinks the job is done but does nothing in the process. Everything as been selected, all the assets are on, nothing is left out, everying is one one artboard, because its a file with over 400 layers, but not a single one is exported.
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
Did you mean "Illustrator makes empty folders named "1x" "? So there are no files inside? It might be time to reset your preferences, although make sure to save your keyboard shortcuts and workspace first (it'll reset those too).
@ChrisWhite.fishing2 жыл бұрын
Explain why Legacy Save for Web renders small texts and generally all the aliasing noticeably better than Export for Screens? Also naming artboards is a dead end, it takes too much time and when you work fast, there is no way it's viable.
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
You'll have to ask Adobe for your first question :P I agree with you about naming artboards, unless this is a template scenario and you need your file names to end up being the artboard names - I do this for files I sell, and my customers find it very helpful. For my own work, I don't name the artboards, though.

Hi Mam. Can I ask how to fix the slow exporting of PDF in Illustrator. I have multiple artboards. But it always slow down when exporting it as pdf.
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
Do you have a lot of raster images in your file (jpg, png, etc)? That can cause everything to slow down. If you're working with rasters and have multiple pages, InDesign is probably the program to design in.
@christianpasco46732 жыл бұрын
@@GDHT I have some vector graphics on my artboards. But its only few. But why exporting too slow.
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
Vectors are usually fine...it's the rasters you need to worry about. I've never come across this issue unless my file size is huge.

I have an Illustrator file with an artboard size of 800px x 800px. I want to save the artwork as a 2000px x 2000px JPEG. If I go to File>Export>Save for web legacy and change the 800px x 800px to 2000px x 2000px, does it pixelate the JPEG?
@GDHT3 жыл бұрын
If your design is 100% vector (no placed raster images, like jpgs or png), there shouldn't be pixellation when viewing at 100%.
