“How Andy Discovered Edie and Invented A Superstar” takes us back to 1964, when Warhol opened the doors to his Silver Factory and went in search of a glamourous muse to inspire him. The first ‘Girl of the Year’ would be blonde socialite Baby Jane Holzer.
And then Edie Sedgwick showed up. Edie and Andy. They needed no last names. After more than a half century they are still synonymous with the ‘Swinging Sixties’. One was a self-absorbed artist seeking fame, the other a self-absorbed debutante searching for a purpose in life. They were the perfect couple...

There are four films in the "How Andy" UnCut Series. "How Andy Made a Painting", "How Andy Made a Movie", "How Andy Discovered Lou Reed, the Velvet Underground and Nico", and "How Andy Discovered Edie Sedgwick and Invented A Superstar". The UnCut Series was developed to release interview materials that were not broadcast standards compatible. They were culled from the 50-hour body of interviews we did to produce the original three-hour television series: "Andy Warhol's Factory People"
