Mothra instantly came to Godzilla's aid without hesitation. Anguirus would have done the same. The titans appear quite loyal on that front. Hard to believe that relationships with humans could hinder that friendship. Also Godzilla beating Kong to nearly an inch of his life was due to their species' past. Anguirus never did anything but walk away for his own sake, so it's not plausible for G-man to take that as an offence, rather he probably accepted Anguirus's decision.

It was like watching a younger brother attacking his older brother until the older brother tires of it and finally beats the everloving snot out of him. It may also be the reason that Godzilla didn't kill Kong outright, as he usually does with his opponents.

1:26 OOOOH been keeping my eye on this company for a hot minute. their monster figures are rad! If a but pricey. Interesting story, though I got the impression godzilla kept anguirus bones around to honor him more as a ally then have him as a reminder of a bitter feud. I actually thought it a kuch more intriguing idea that Godzilla and anguirus species were natural competitors like in raids again, but those two individuals grew a respectful of the twos strength and growing a close bond. With anguirus perhaps dying to protecting Godzilla’s city while he was away,.

Not bad but highly unlikely. If they were friends then they would not end up parting ways or fighting. Anguirus may as well have been Godzilla's second in command through the Showa era. Now lets just say they were friends and that they fought together repeatedly (which could be a reason for the skeleton to be in the lair) what is to say that Anguirus was not killed in battle alongside Godzilla. The other way this could happen is that this Anguirus was not friends with Godzilla but rather an enemy (just like in 1955) who fought Godzilla and was killed by him.

Thinking back on the various fandoms, toho stuff, and just some of the lore of the monsterverse. I would not be surprise if Anguirus was considered a variant member of the Godzilla family, considering there looked to be different types and sizes of Gojira in the Godzilla family. Maybe Anguirus was like a sibling to Godzilla or close ally, but faced mortality and seeing how Godzilla does seem to show emotions in this universe; would likely kept the remains close by.

I feel like Anguirus will make a return. Why do I think this? Maybe this particular Titanus Anguirus specimen was a rogue. One that Godzilla himself had to deal with. And maybe Godzilla’s friend Anguirus is somewhere else, probably pushed out of his own territory by this rogue beast and was afraid, and that’s why Anguirus didn’t respond to the Alpha call, because attempting to reach Godzilla would mean seeing that rogue or highly territorial Anguirus and maybe even have gotten himself killed. Just a thought.

I like the entire theory!! Good job DangerVille!! But I think that Godzilla also kept Anguirus's remains at his province as a sign of regret, and guilt. I do believe that the Titans are emotional, and thoughtful between old allies, even if it is betrayal. So maybe the G Man felt sad at the fact his once best friend betrayed him (even if not on purpose) and was forced by his animal instincts to kill Anguirus. I just think this comment as a small extra part to the theory as why Anguirus's remains are still at Godzilla Lair

or what most likely happened is Anguirus was dyeing after helping godzilla in the war and knew that if he sacrificed himself he could give godzilla more power. the titan died for his closest friend and give him the strength to win the war or recover from the war hopefully a new Anguirus will appear maybe fight with godzilla then the two will stop mid battle and become ally's .

I have a theory, Shimo killed one of them and became that one. When Godzilla killed Tiamat in GxK, he stole her DNA and became one of the Tiamat. Shimo is a Godzilla and Anguirus hybrid but mostly Godzilla, according to having more similarities to Godzilla than Anguirus, so she must have slaughtered Anguirus, ate that species member alive, and became the first living Anguirus and other living Godzilla in the Monsterverse. That Angurius must have been a pest to Godzilla and was the bully in Anguirus school [yes, Anguirus is a whole species, go check the Monarch G Team leaks].

I think that anguirus probably assisted Godzilla against ghidorah at the battle in Antarctica and was killed by ghidorah. probably throwing himself between Godzilla and ghidorahs gravity beam. Godzilla then left his carcass outside his lair to remember one of his greatest allies.

First, I didn't like the way the movies killed off Anguirus without explaining what happened. I had rather seen him in KoM, even if he arrived too late for the final battle. Or had he been killed by Gidorah in mid-movie. Or in a "pre" scene in the intro. Just a few thoughts... As for his skeleton... Perhaps Godzilla brought his friend's body there to protect it from scavengers. I would like to see a "son of Anguirus" appear in future movies; coming to aid Godzilla. No special introduction, except maybe an "unexplained" giant eggshell at the start of the movie. They know it's a Titan! But who? What? Everyone thinks it's the new enemy... Then in Act Three, BAM!!! There he is!!! His instincts are to protect Humanity, and help the King!

Seems out of character. In the books and movies Godzilla was cool to anyone who knew to stay in their own lane and not take a dump all over the planet. He respected Kong’s fight enough to let him live, let a Muto live at the end of KOTM and in the books he let challengers walk away mid fight and came to the aid of titans in need. I just can’t see him trying to kill his ally, who was 10/10 the goodest of bois, for basically taking a nap and not picking up the phone. Or torch a village for payback of it either for that matter. Seems more likely to me that Anguirus would be in there because he died after some enemy took the fight to Godzilla’s front door. It also seems likely that he would even sacrifice himself for his friend. Godzilla clearly recognized and appreciated Mothra’s sacrifice in the book, so it stands to reason that he would have kept Anguirus’ remains close to him out of loyalty. Plus he made it pretty clear that he resented Mutos and Kongs and had a particular hatred for KG so maybe killing his bro is the reason why. Also I would love to be Anguirus’ pet. The coolest thing ever would to be able to give him the Serizawa boop. ❤️

The only reason I don't think Anguirus would work, is if Legendary continued the trend for him to be a loser. At that point, you might as well not bother with him as a titan in general, let alone in the Monsterverse. It's a shame but that's probably what they'd do. EDIT: Ghidorah has the distinction of being purely evil and a threat to the whole planet, so that doesn't count here.

Godzilla will never kill anguirus, it was only mechagodzilla who did it. Mechagodzilla disguise with godzilla skin and scale,everything explain when anguirus scratch the godzilla scales with his sharp claw.below the godzilla scale is metal body,but anguirus was badly injured and have to retreat for recovering his injuries. What I think is that Godzilla is too young for the GodzillaandKong war. It was Dagon, but when he dies to the MUTO prime 1000s of years after the war a young Godzilla swam to the city to look for Dagon, he couldn’t find him so he was left with the earth all to himself. With no idea what to do for millions of years, he went into a deep sleep in what was Dagon’s home. That is my theory of what happened.
