I see what they were going for, I see this archetype in anime all the time. In the original English Airachnid would be described by many people as being very sadistic and in truth that's actually the same here. The main difference comes down to culture. Many female characters in Japan who bear this quality come across as sadists in a more depraved manner, like their getting off on a person's suffering. As opposed to the English version where she's is definitely enjoying herself by torturing her enemies, but in the original she's still all business; a character trying to achieve her objective. It's just more like she's "enjoying her work." If that makes sense at all.

I despise Japan for turning a great character like Airachnid, who is a cold and merciless Decepticon that collects on endangered creatures from across the galaxy into some creepy, high-strung chatterbox that collects the heads of ''handsome boys'' and is completely lovey-dovey with Jack. Almost the same thing with what they did to Hardshell who is the most ferocious out of the Insecticons and in Japan he is some hyperactive and extremely chatty comic relief. Fun fact: both were voice by the Beast Wars and Beast Machines VA's for Blackarachnia and Silverbolt/Jetstorm. The VA for Airachnid and Blackarchnia also voiced the Animated Blackarchnia in the Japanese dub. Queen of spiders, much?

I'm Japanese, but I seriously don't like this at all. Yoshikazu Iwanami. This guy's the main villan for dubbing Transformers like this. Just because Transformers is a show for kids doesn't mean he can just turn into something like a terrible gag anime with no respect for the original. There are a times where he didn't do the dubbing(Animated, RiD[2015] etc.) and he did the job correctly one time (Beast Awakening), but I really want him to stop dubbing or else the streak of ruining the series will continue...

This is because the sound director for the Japanese version of TFP was the same as that for Beast Wars, and because of that connection, they hired Ryoka Yuzuki, who once played Black Arachnia. (Incidentally, Yuzuki played Nightbird in Rise of the beast, but not in this joke of a performance.) Still, while overseas fans consider this Japanese version of Airachnid to be a Yandere, I don't see it that way. Rather, the way she speaks, she is a dull woman over 30 years old with no luck with men.
