Early 8-bit computers were basically understood by most programmers and I think that carried over to the 16-bit CPUs but past that I don't think many people paid much attention to the architecture anymore and rather focus on what they could do with it, I mean it's a lot to absorb

If you know how they make screens work for playing games, it’s the CPU that processes everything. It’s like a series of frames, where the CPU collects data from all the apps and processes it. And also if they program the cpu without a pc system to put it in they use what calls a bare metal program.
