@@CLepper61 Yvonne made a decision to leave Risey with his friends which at the time was important for him and the second she realized something was amiss she acted in the manner she felt was necessary which was bringing him to Stal H and providing him the best care and doing everything in her power to help him that is what matters now. We are not privy to every day/moment Yvonne has with her animals nor are we walking in her shoes therefore it’s not any of our places to say she should have done this or that or I would do this,sometimes things happen and we have no control over the situation bc until your actually in it we don’t know what each of us would do. Yvonne loves her boy and I know she’s already being unnecessarily hard on herself going through this with Risy questioning herself about what she’s doing we as her followers don’t have to like something she does but it’s unnecessary to add onto it thank you,Shannon MOD.

Yes Risey likes to pose for the camera 😂! He's got his royal air about him, probably because his adopted Mom Uniek raised him with much love and of course his human mom Yvonne continues to give him that same love. He won't let his handicap stop him. ❤

I think Risey simply trusts Yvonne so much that he overcame his fear of the tyre quickly. He's a clever boy, he knows she'd never allow anything near him that might truly be dangerous ❤ Lovely to see the foals and mares, and the young colts. Also the kids at the beach! It's weird to see summer now at the cold, windy end of December.

Rising Star is very calm for a warmblood, especially a young one. It must be the Queen’s Friesian milk that he was raised on, not to mention the calming influences of the Friesian herd.💕🙏🏻

Looks like Rising Star want to roll in the sand but he’s unsure if he can lay down & get up again. The unsteadiness in his hind legs is noticeable to the trained eye but not quite obvious to all. A beautiful shot of him taking a break from grazing & surveying his new home. Handsome chestnut horse, blue sky & green grass. Please be very cautious when handling him. Always wear a helmet when around a wobbler. A safety vest is also advisable. Never handle him while alone. Always have someone else nearby in case something happens. I personally know several people who have been injured while caring for horses with Wobblers Syndrome, including a man who suffered a broken ankle when a wobbler stepped on him trying to steady itself & a woman who was knocked into a fence & broke her shoulder after a young horse with wobblers fell on her. I would be devastated it Yvonne were injured after recovering from the riding accident. The boys shouldn’t be near him & the dogs & ponies should be carefully supervised when he’s close by them. I know Yvonne is an experienced horsewoman who take precautions but Wobblers make me nervous. I’ve seen too many injuries to people & horses because of this terrible condition.

Just a suggestion, check out Black Horses, Ltd. Their 14 year old Friesian, Anya, has had wobblers since she was diagnosed very young and does well today at 14. She is very active, is ridden, pulls the cart and free roams around the grounds and exercised daily. Gives me hope for RS.😍

I spent my teen years rehabbing Thoroughbreds off the track to be hunter/jumpers in the 1970s. I learned a lot about gait analysis from riding and working with them and then even more when I switched to training dogs. Risey is showing gait abnormalities in 1 stride out of every 2 or 3 strides. I say gait abnormalities because he showed at least 6 or 7 different abnormalities rather than one consistent problem. As you now know, this indicates a neurological problem rather than an orthopaedic problem or a soft tissue injury (such as tendonitis) or an infection. I'm so sad for Risey and for everyone who loves him.

Growing up in the country, my neighbor was a chiropractor. He worked on people and animals. He always had several wobblers in his pasture at any given time. I wonder if a chiropractor might help Risey - even if the benefit is small - it’s still something. Might be worth a try 💕

Risey seems very content at being home with both of his Mems, Uniek & Yvonne, I noticed his nose looks a lot better too. Risey is a very intelligent young horse who knows he’s better being alone right now and not having to compete in stallion fights with his best friends, he also has that same gentleness about him like his Mem Queen Uniek. Just to be sure, you have had Risey tested for EPM (Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis)? I don’t know if it’s common in Europe, but it’s in the states and can go undiagnosed. It’s fully treatable if caught early enough. Our prayers that this coming year will bring you much joy! Thank you for bringing us along as friends of the family. Poor little Dribbel. It's such a shame that so many kitties are killed by equipment. Dribbel was a beauty. Heartbreaking. Poor Risey, I know you said in the video that at times "one hardly notices his lameness" but to me, it's extremely noticeable. Risey wants to lay down and roll. If he does that, will he be able to get up?

Rising Star has always had " presense"....even in his illness, it is noticeable.... the world did not choose Risy to love, merely because he was( for a minute) an orphan.....He is a beauty..intelligent and friendly....who could not be fond of this colt??

Y'know, seeing all this, and knowing that he didn't get any worse....this is completely treatable. I'm hopeful that Risey will recover from this condition. How much is uncertain, but considering it hasn't worsened and he's not in pain I think the hardest part will be just consistency and time. Risey has options, and in the meantime he's happily settling in and making friends with everybody around him :3 So sweet to see him following Dieuwke around the arena

Bij het Wobbler-syndroom is het heel normaal dat de symptomen verergeren zodra het paard zijn hals sterk optilt (bij stress, opwinding of angst), omdat dit de vernauwing in het wervelkanaal nog meer samendrukt, en dat het beter wordt zodra het paard zijn hoofd naar beneden strekt. Dit is ook hoe de houding moet worden aangemoedigd voor therapie: zo laag mogelijk. Er is een goed gedocumenteerd geval waarvoor ook KZbin-video's bestaan. Voer gewoon "Captain Future Wobbler syndrome" in bij de zoekfunctie. De symptomen van dit paard waren vele malen erger dan die van Risey en je kunt zien hoe verbazingwekkend goed het paard zich heeft ontwikkeld - alleen met fysiotherapie en tot nu toe zonder operatie. Wunder has been trying to get a taste of the milk that Yvonne brings to Yfke in the pasture. Lucky Yfke, But so far he just gets the empty bucket. Ah, but tonight Wunder has a Plan., Wunder has decided to spend the night in the stall with Reintje and Yfke.. He knows the orange bucket of milk comes to their stall at bedtime. Wunder stands there, as if to say “Reintje does not mind if I stay overnight and have supper with Yfke”❤

Happy New Year. To you and all of yours. So sorry about Dribble. The kittens in the other video were so cute. Risey seems to be settling down. It's funny how things happen. My right ear eventually became my deafest ear; and a rescue dog I adored who died last year after a very happy 10+ years with me, also had a deafer right ear. From repeated infections as a pup before my late mother and I adopted him and his little Jack Russel cage companion. There's you and there's Risey. I'm convinced our Animal Angels take on some aspect of our walk. Don't ask me why. But they really do walk the walk with us... I'm sure they don't have to. But they seem to want to just be with us. Totally. Whatever it takes. It humbles me. Thank God for the creatures great and small.
